03/2/2016 11:33 | Oh boy Harold, you're so posh! I don't think you're going to return to these shores somehow? | gismo
01/2/2016 21:32 | And, tomorrow night's dinner, hxxp://www.foodfromp | harold larwood
01/2/2016 21:19 | Hola Gis. Sunny day here (again) and a real retro supper. I did thinly sliced calves liver with garlic and onions. Deglazed the pan with butter, flour, white wine and finely chopped sage and parsley and added cream and served with mashed potato. The business. Washed down with vino blanco. | harold larwood
29/1/2016 14:34 | Oh and kidneys, nearly forgot those! | gismo
29/1/2016 14:33 | Well it's grey and miserable here, yet again! Tonight we have mixed grill, with liver, lamb chops, bacon, sausages, tomato, ducks egg and jacket potatoes with sour cream, got to cheer myself up somehow lol | gismo
29/1/2016 10:53 | Gis, weather cloudy here today but feel a lot better after seeing the UK weather forecast. Paella for supper tonight - yummy | harold larwood
28/1/2016 14:25 | Hola senor Larwood! Oh how lovely, I can just see you and Mrs Larwood doing your shrimps! Don't use too much oil laying on that sunbed, you'll end up looking like a shrimp lol Well back to reality now, it's stopped raining!!! Have fun in the sun, adios! | gismo
27/1/2016 17:54 | Hola senora Gis. Yes, having a wonderful but tiring time. It's amazing how tired one gets laying on a hot sun lounger. The other amazing thing is the British!! We walked past fisherman landing their catch this morning in front of a bar decked out with us Brits woofing down burgers and chips - crazy. I'm doing shrimps with aioli and sea bass with parsley potato for supper with, of course, vino blanco. | harold larwood
27/1/2016 13:21 | Hi Harold, sounds like you're having fun in the sun! Grey and soggy here in Truro today. I just hope we get a hot dry summer, my feet are webbed. Enjoy the vino. Adios! | gismo
25/1/2016 19:47 | Clive, as Sir Winston said, "I have taken more out of alcohol than alcohol has taken out of me." I saw on the news the passing of Cecil Parkinson. I met him a few times and had dinner with him - great company and full of anecdotes. Another day of sun spent on a beach lounger. For those in the UK, enjoy the rain for the next few days as we are only weeks away from the summer hosepipe ban. | harold larwood
25/1/2016 10:21 | Now Now Harold steady on the Vino LOL! | cliveas
24/1/2016 22:11 | Ivan, sounds like you are having fun. Squid ink tastes fishy. Not too worried about Storm Jonah as I've been married to Mrs L for 43 years and know all about icy blasts. Sea bass and prawns for supper - cost £3.50 for the two of us - and a bottle of surprisingly good local white wine on offer at the mercado for euro 2.50. Enjoy the language lessons. | harold larwood

23/1/2016 23:14 | So you will still be there when Storm Jonah comes swirling across the North Atlantic from the US, to drown the UK in snow, gales, rain and ice? Great. He He. Enjoy the sea bass and calamari ..... not too sure about the squid ink though. What does that taste of? and well, yes, I do have a few beautiful senoritas helping me with the lingo. :) Be careful though, you can easily get injured and lose your eyesight, with all those skimpy bikinis over there .......... When Mrs L catches you looking, and whacks you with the frying pan. he he. | ivanburgess
23/1/2016 22:07 | 26 degrees and cloudless today. Another two weeks of bliss! | harold larwood
22/1/2016 09:59 | Ivan, I am impressed. No doubt you are improving with the help of some of the beautiful senoritas? Clive, we are in Playa Blanca and visited the volcano a couple of days ago. A very scary coach trip around got the knees knocking but interesting to see the restaurant cooking BBQ chicken over a hot volcanic pipe. May nip over to the port this morning to see the fishmonger as the fresh sea bass and calamari is about a third of the price at Tesco and far fresher. Calamari risotto in squid ink followed by baked sea bass with saute potatoes appeals for a nice supper. | harold larwood
22/1/2016 09:08 | which resort are you in Harold? Don't forget to visit the Volcano to get even hotter LOL! Off to Planet Hollywood tomorrow for some fun without sun with the boys! Hope all are well. | cliveas
21/1/2016 16:47 | Marmite, real mature cheddar cheese, (the one that bites you back), and grapefruits are the only things I miss. Otherwise its all good. Harold, sounds great. What would you pay back home? 10 times the price, and the fish wouldn't be half as fresh. Enjoy. ¿Mi español? Poco a poco mejorando. Puedo decir lo que tengo que decir, usando las palabras que conozco. El problema es cuando gente responda, porque ellos usan palabras que no conozco. Haha. | ivanburgess
21/1/2016 12:44 | Still scorchio so lunch on the veranda today. Fresh sardines and shrimp with home made aioli. A dozen sardines and a dozen shrimp cost about £2 and a bottle of decent vino blanco £3. | harold larwood
21/1/2016 11:37 | And pickled onions, picalili etc etc. | harold larwood |
