I am buying into WMH on the basis that we will see more consolidation in the sector.. More good news is likely than bad news.. Mkt has discounted the negatives

People who smoke ,take drugs, gamble or drink are responsible for their own actions. It isn't the responsibility of companies to look after them.

They think that they are massively undervalued by the market and it is a good use of capital (as they have no idea what else to do with the money that could access)

Pretty sure the report isn't due to be published until early next year. The bookies aren't due to give there testimony until 11th January.

From The Times

A group of UK members of Parliament are set to publish the findings of a six-month inquiry into fixed-odds betting terminals, with expectations they will call for stricter controls, The Times reported.

The suggestion of an imminent crackdown on the machines hit shares in bookmakers on Thursday morning. William Hill was down 8.6% and rival Ladbrokes Coral Group PLC off 7.2%. The pair have the largest high-street bookie estates in Britain and so would be hit hard by stricter controls on the betting terminals.

Ladbrokes are down nearly 8% as well , so can only surmise the government are about to announce new rules on gaming machines.

Deals looking like kicking off in Australia. Can't help thinking that Hills are really getting left behind here.

They really have to do something. The Amaya bid was just plain silly. They need someone who knows the sector properly.

888 is a obvious choice but it has its issues and a high sale price.
