20/6/2008 20:30 | The reaction of the share price to a few modest buys today seems to indicate that the MMs are not holding that much stock. It could turn out to be an interesting couple of weeks ahead ..... | clangor2
17/6/2008 18:17 | I'm starting to wish I'd bought a bit more of this so-called 'junk'. And I always thought that it was just 'muck' that meant money, maybe 'junk' qualifies as well ! | clangor2
16/6/2008 16:58 | Appears to be doing rather well for what was described recently as 'junk'. I wish some of my other 'dogs' would follow suit ..... | clangor2
16/6/2008 16:20 | The 'touch' is 12/15 currently but they are 13 bid for 25/- no offer... on the auto. Feels like they may go higher..... | omerta
16/6/2008 15:35 | Paying 16p for 'only' 36,781 shares when the quote was 11.0 - 13.5 is an intriguing one. Nowadays, trades just seem to be marked 'O', which takes a lot of clarity away from the reporting. | jonwig
13/6/2008 16:34 | Like in Scotland u mean ? | hvs
13/6/2008 16:33 | I was thinking more of Mrs Clangor (charity beginneth at home ...) | jonwig
13/6/2008 16:32 | U mean "GOD" Brown and his charitable cabal ? | hvs
13/6/2008 16:21 | LOL ... As a form of penance, Clangor, I expect you to donate your forthcoming profits to a suitable charity! | jonwig
13/6/2008 16:16 | I clearly stand corrected (although my distrust/dislike of MMs remains as strong as before). As a form of penance, I've made myself buy another 10k s worth - before the price went up as well ! | clangor2
12/6/2008 10:25 | institutional sale probably so opportunistic bid for large line of stock. | charo
11/6/2008 17:46 | Well it would show as a sale on Proquote as computer takes account of market price which at the time was 10.5/11.5. Computer can't think ~ that chairman has done a good deal because of size of transaction. Seller would have no chance of getting rid of 600/- in the market. | omerta
11/6/2008 17:04 | Interestingly, this was marked as a 'sell' yesterday, tells you all you need to know about MMs and their devious ways ! 'Widney Plc - Director's shareholding (11 June 2008) Widney Plc ("Widney" or the "Company") was notified on 10 June 2008 that Joe Grimmond, the chairman of the Company, acquired 600,000 shares in Widney at 9.5p per share on 10 June 2008. Following this purchase of shares, Mr Grimmond is interested in 2,817,933 ordinary shares which represents 10.9 per cent of the Company's issued ordinary share capital.' | clangor2
11/6/2008 11:30 | I am encouraged by the 600K buy from mgt but how do they get to buy for 9.5p at least 1p below the asking price? | jimmycarter
11/6/2008 10:03 | put up or shut up and he did. | charo
29/5/2008 19:25 | Anyone still holding this junk? | lord justice teeling
29/5/2008 09:06 | The auditor's qualification refers to the six month periods ending 31 March and 30 September, 2007, not for these six months. As usual, short term holders have focused on the negative parts of the announcement (and have now bolted for the door) but there are green shoots if one bothers to look. | clangor2
29/5/2008 09:05 | :-)) Ah well, you've got your ammo for the next few years ! Typical Widney, next statement will be bullish, usually the pattern. | 8trader
29/5/2008 09:03 | never mind 8Trader - prognosis nothing like as gloomy as PDR!! | callumross
29/5/2008 08:46 | It is, rather, Callum. Apart from what you point out, Admin Expenses (£4.1m) are coming in too high for a company of this size, even after they've managed to halve them. Notice the auditor's qualification at the end. On the other hand, there should be scope for them to sweat the assets, and an annualised turnover of £31m compares to a MCap of £2.8m. | jonwig
29/5/2008 08:16 | little bit disappointed. the 0.98 EPS is creditable but only achieved as a result of a tax credit - underlying EPS only 0.4p. Also £500k increase in overdraft and negligible cash flow a little bit worrying in these times. | callumross |
