Oh dear!
Next critical support level is the upward trendline, joining dips over 2yr period, around 275p.

Maybe the City think that Bob is departing WHM.
Should WHM make an announcement?

Thanks for that input Mashman

Bob Thian - respected Chairman - bodes well.

I think the City have taken a real interest in WHM with Bob on board ;o)

SkyePharma shareholders like our Bob,

"Disgruntled ( SkyePharma ) shareholders subsequently approached Bob Thian, the respected chairman of Whatman, to join the company and a turnaround proposal was put to SkyePharma's board in early November. The proposal was rejected"

and from the website,

"Whatman plc, a global leader in separations and protein array technology, today announced that the combination of two promising technologies "

More coin to the coffers but you would have thought that a discovery and a collaberation with a leading biotech company would have justified an announcement to the stockmarket. Still, if thats Whatmans way, what the hell.
The market seemed to like it anyway.

I think you're right. I remember selling a rather large batch at £3.50 last time (or the equivalent x 5 back then). Paid for my house move. Which was nice.

I think we can see another attack on 300p soon.
The chart seems to be indicating that there is some solid investors underpinning this price.

Back around the £3 level again. Hoping for a further little break upwards from here.

Well the Whatman chief is digging but has he mentioned the breakout to the escape committee - that's the question ;o)

Seriously, nice to see a few other comments as I thought I had been talking to myself. The Chairman has recently bought nearly half a million pounds worth of shares so what does he know! The City likes this company too, the fundamentals are there and from a chartist perspective it looks good.

Onward & upward.

Investec Ups Whatman Pretax Estimates

Tuesday, October 25, 2005 6:08:29 AM ET
Dow Jones Newswires

0945 GMT [Dow Jones] Investec ups Whatman's (WHM.LN) 06 pretax profit in 06 and 07 by 10% to GBP31.3M and GBP34.5M respectively. The move takes into account better-than-expected cost savings. But IFRS accounting prompts a cut in 05 EPS of 6% to 12.8p while 06 EPS is lifted by 4.5% to 17.2p and 07 by 3% to 19p. "We remain buyers of Whatman, attracted to its strong market position, double-digit earnings growth, attractive valuation and cash generation," it says. Maintains buy rating. Trades unchanged at 259.25p. (DWE)
