This is still ridiculously overvalued. Surely worth 50p max and that's being generous.

Sod all revenue. Legacy business grinding to a halt. New contracts tiny amounts.

Taking the inside week out to the downside to give full time frame continuity. How things change quickly and shows you can do all the so called research you like but it won't help price action.

Big data is an all-encompassing term for any collection of data sets so large or complex that it becomes difficult to process them using traditional data processing applications. The challenges include analysis, capture, curation, search, sharing, storage, transfer, visualization, and privacy violations

Its all looking good

British Gas has stepped up a trial it conducted in 2014 with WANdisco’s Non-Stop Hadoop product to advance its Connected Homes initiative. The IT supplier said the three-year contract is worth $750,000.

An initial trial deployment of Non-Stop Hadoop has enabled British Gas to capture real-time data from over a million smart meters.

The supplier said it has shown cost savings in data storage and processing, and minimised data loss and downtime “in compliance with regulations".

WANdisco was able to demonstrate performance and scale that otherwise could not have been achieved.

Non-Stop Hadoop, a management framework for Hadoop installations that enables maintenance scheduling and other administrative functionality, is now going live at British Gas. The amount of data to be covered will be twice that of the trial.

"British Gas’s Connected Homes programme will now benefit more from real-time analytics which will make possible the “dynamic matching of energy supply with demand pattern,” said WANdisco.

WANdisco founder David Richards is living the dream

Sheffield-born entrepreneur and founder of WANdisco David Richards was always cut out for life in Silicon Valley. But jointly headquartering his company in the UK and the US means he has the best of both worlds

The Proof Of Concept turning into a significant deal is very significant here. Also a reference point now for other companies to look into the WAND offering. This could be an inflection point for WAND. dyor

"British Gas says real-time analytics from its Connected Homes programme will allow it to match energy supply with demand.

The deal follows contract wins for WANdisco with the consumer data firm behind Tesco Clubcard and a global US-based credit card and financial services company and.

In its third quarter booking’s update, the business reported record sales, climbing 56 per cent on the preceding quarter and 21 per cent year-on-year.

While investment in its technology has kept WANdisco’s bottom line in the red, analysts are enthusiastic about the company’s prospects."

the BG contract is important in that it is an existing client coming back for a more serious contract - a validation of the business model imo.

Big Data contract win

British Gas scales up its WANdisco Big Data solution

British Gas, the UK's largest utilities and home services provider, has significantly scaled up its WANdisco (LSE: WAND) Big Data solution for live customer-facing operations. The resulting new three-year subscription is WANdisco's largest Big Data deal to date, with a value of $750,000.

An initial trial deployment of WANdisco's Non-Stop Hadoop (announced on 20 March 2014) enabled British Gas to capture real-time data from over a million household Smart Meters, to demonstrate cost savings in data storage and processing, and to minimise data loss and downtime in compliance with regulations. WANdisco was able to demonstrate performance and scale that otherwise could not have been achieved.

Non-Stop Hadoop is now going into live production, with the amount of data under management scaled up to more than twice its original level. Real-time analytics from the 'Connected Homes' programme will bring benefits such as dynamic matching of energy supply with demand patterns.

Across the whole British Gas data infrastructure, Non-Stop Hadoop accelerates the transformation to a consolidated and available body of management information, for which data centre storage and processing will be handled more efficiently and less expensively.

David Richards, WANdisco Chief Executive, comments:

"Customers see our Hadoop technology as critical for enterprise big data deployments. Enlarging our footprint with existing customers like British Gas, in addition to gathering new customers, is a very important part of our strategy. This deal clearly demonstrates our ability to expand a small initial big data deployment into a much larger deal."
