23/10/2006 13:13 | Up she goes again - this is fun :-) | jezboy1
17/10/2006 17:50 | Jezboy, Yes a volatile couple of days but it can't all be attributed to the company specifically. The broader market is considerably down hence the continuation of profit taking today. | matt123d
17/10/2006 14:27 | wow - this some crazy share, sold yesterday and bought back today at 483.... | jezboy1
16/10/2006 09:41 | UP UP and AWAY.... | jezboy1
14/10/2006 16:37 | Interesting article in the Times today, apparently the government is keen on the development of a big ship building unit for the UK - possible merger of BAE and VT maritime departments (or even a bid by BAE for VT???) - Also, bids from BAE and VT for the big carrier building project will be submitted soon - lot of possible money to be made out of this guys and gals - will be interested to see what the sector does Monday AM. | jezboy1
09/10/2006 21:37 | Reeshar interesting, thanks for that - but why would Boeing be interested in VTG, as I assumed they have a greater weighting to sea-worthy vessels? Although, it is fair to say that the services industry has given VTG more exposure to industries it was less traditionally connected with. there are far more companies in this sector that are that more orientated to the aviation industry. only my opinion.... | jezboy1
09/10/2006 20:22 | Jezboy1 re your 4-Oct comment - there has been comment in the FT about Boeing wanting to get into UK defense companies as the UK Gov are thinking a bit protective like. Several stocks rose on bid prospects. | reeshar
06/10/2006 16:52 | Thanks jez. 490p certainly presenting some resistance. TIMH holding quite an aggressive stance today and could be one to watch for sentiment. Have a good weekend too. | matt123d
06/10/2006 15:49 | welcome matt to the ghost town that is this thread. just looks like u me and dolphy at the mo.... have a good weekend | jezboy1
06/10/2006 10:17 | In at 487p! Results due 14 November which should tie in with a higher high at around 525p. | matt123d
05/10/2006 10:20 | 490 is the new resistance point.... | jezboy1
04/10/2006 16:51 | yep we are above 486 - could be a good sign :-) noticed that much of the defence sector got a lift today,(SMIN flew!) could be VTG just went up in sympathy.... time will tell. | jezboy1
04/10/2006 15:08 | making up some nice ground today - here's hoping we stay above the 486 at the close. | dolphy
03/10/2006 11:18 | agreed - that sort of pattern tends to happen over and over again, providing good entry prices. at present 486 looks like providing short term resistance. | jezboy1
03/10/2006 09:09 | what's more amazing is that the "in line with expectations" statement last week caused such a drop. must admit last time the share price broke through 500 I thought it was going to stay there as it surged through, but was not the case. next time maybe. | dolphy
02/10/2006 16:59 | hi dolphy - so nice to have someone else to talk too... yep have to admit this is what made me notice VTG and buy earlier at 482. so let's see if this chart business works eh? | jezboy1
02/10/2006 10:10 | jezboy - seems rare that anyone does. not the most exciting stock to track, but have been making modest amounts trading in and out of VTG based on the RSI. Look at a 6 month chart and plot RSI below it and there seems to be a definite trend ie. overbought followed by oversold. maybe not the most scientific approach, but am happy to pick up steady profits in this way. | dolphy
29/9/2006 12:30 | does anyone post on this BB any more?? | jezboy1
06/9/2006 10:32 | Nine months later the VTG share price stands at 500. I wonder what your broker told you, Whelan? | what is a login ?
20/1/2006 12:45 | Lunching with my broker on Wednesday and think I will be out too. Qinetiq should be a good substitute. | whealan
17/1/2006 16:38 | I'm out - had expected 422.50 to hold. Small head and shoulders pattern neckline now broken gives target of 403. CH. | churchtower
07/12/2005 13:00 | Date: Wednesday 07 Dec 2005 LONDON (ShareCast) - VT Group has been upgraded to 'buy' from 'add' at ABN Amro, as the Dutch broker said the stock offers good value. "VT Group has steadily strengthened its core businesses and broadened its horizons. The group's core businesses are now well set and there is no need for a dash for growth," said ABN. Just noticed this, but your explanation makes more sense.Thanks.. | samenic
07/12/2005 12:46 | Samenic - See posting 24 above. May be the reason and news is leaking out. CH. | churchtower
07/12/2005 10:46 | Any idea (apart from prayers)as to why this is soaring like a thousand eagles? | samenic |
