Well its 7 year low was 15.25p and that was before they issued a load more shares. So really I'm thinking this could get to 10-12p.

Who on earth would want to buy VLX? - I would have thought it more likely to continue what seems an inexorable decline.

Been watching a waiting this one - update is out 26th Feb and the intraday bounce has got me interested. Took a £5k stake on this 11553 share bought , looking like a takeover target to me.

60p might see some resistance after a strong run up in the last week. Hope we can breach this. Definitely a change in sentiment after a strong downtrend.

Has the market finally twigged that this has been oversold?

Still a lot of convincing to do. Sharp fall in revenue, and plenty of competition and falling demand. Lead customers also being drowned out by competition on quantity and price not helping. Still looks overvalued imo. Need UK 6PENCE eps to justify current share price 30p nearer to fair on current numbers.

Much as expected - which at least indicates their RNSs can be trusted. The comment they made in the last RNS about inventory levels building up in anticipation of H2 product launches by customers did bear out, and indeed they confirm "We are already beginning to see the benefits of these projects in the second half".

Revenue did decline by more than expected though. Significant part of it was currency effects (which also reduce costs), i.e. Brazilian and Euro sales translating into lower US$ amounts, plus the impact of the extra week in last year's comparatives - so the headline decline is actually a lot lower.

Paying yet another CEO to go, albeit only $0.3m, is frustrating. He did appear to be expensive in how he worked, looking at some of the of detail of this year and last year's year's exceptional items - including throwing money at starters, leavers, those who stayed, consultants to tell them how to use their ERP systems, how to use the toilet etc. Not a man to get his hands dirty. So best rid, frankly. Then there were the write-offs from the previous management - Active Optical etc etc. Bad times in recent years.

Dunno - not looking too good, but the doom overdone methinks. Leadership and board structure announcement before th year-end - hmmm. It is profitable (barely), minimal net debt and plenty of cash, revenues should grow. I've seen a lot worse, and I'm sure potential acquirers have too ;-)

Not so sad after all, maybe, with today's RNS ? Something's working or worked in the face of falling sales.

If sales decline then they need to pay suppliers off and no cash comes in

-----> borrowings go up

------------->Thats why possible bank breach here OR rights issue

OK - he's worth 40bn. What do I care.

I'll tell him next time I see him in the village; he will be pleased.

While I'm at it, I'll ask him how come he allows an 'insignificant little company' to use his Rothschild name as a prop for their share price.

(How do I do that roll-eyes thingy)?

time_traveller - Stop the aggression. The rumour is supposed to be true.

He's probably been added to the BOD just to prop up the share.

£40bn?!! Erm, ever so slightly wide of the mark. The rich list puts him at £170m. You refer to the rumoured worth of the entire Rothschild family; a rumour which is equally garbage.

He is the largest shareholder but his stake is only worth about £14m which is peanuts (or should that be peanut) in relation to his estimated net worth of £40bn.

He really isn't going to be that interested reminds me of Alan Yentob trying to rscue Kid's Company!

Or as someone said - what a Bumi

With Volex giving Nat Rothschild yet another blotch of red ink, I expect he will be pretty keen to extract some shareholder value now. The management team was looking pretty lightweight, so it is a valuable addition.

I never would have guessed, wasp factory!

And if the level of sophistication of analysis here is looking at round 20s, then this place really is a waste of time. Pity really because this may be an interesting prospect, and it would be nice to get some properly considered thoughts, but no one with a clue apears to be interested (negative in itself, I suppose)

Just for clarity - Mike740 and dlku are the same person and he has added ONJohn to his list of names in an attempt to dupe other posters.
