Yes, I noticed the RNS this morning. I have no problems with a reasonable news flow, and I do get fed up with those companies who notify of every contract whatever the size. Softly, softly is fine by me. Patience is my middle name !!

Buy buy buy - the AGM resolutions were passed :o))

I spoke to the broker yesterday and sort of gathered that there wouldn't be a trading update. Their interesting comment was that after the initially poor start to life on AIM the company is now trying to underplay its statements and overdeliver on results.

Sounds like a reasonable strategy which has worked over the last few months, with the H2'07 operating profit and subsequent contract wins announced with little if no fuss.

Back to waiting patiently - H1 results not far away now.

I'm learning to be patient in this market, if nothing else....

Yep, the AGM is next Thursday. A crucial time methinks - if the positive/profitable trading continues and the 11p per share cash pile increases again then there could be a cracking re-rating on the cards, particularly if the overhang clears. Otherwise we may have to wait a little longer!

I may well take some more, but I'll probably wait a little while. I've only taken a small holding to start with. Let's hope for a decent update next week.

RNS just out - the Annual Report is now on the web site, but more importantly the AGM is set for 5th June, so only a week away.

Hopefully we'll get another trading update next week then:

Thanks. I'll keep an eye out on the thread. Does seem cheap, but traditionally I tend to have to dither for a little while prior to taking the plunge. Just a little while longer...

Hi Steve. As noted above, the FD said to me a new note from Peel Hunt would be out in "early June". As a shareholder in HYD I am used to PH being extremely slow in getting a follow-up note out after results!

I do have a copy of PH's brief morning update from September'07 after the H1'07 interims. In it they say VDI is "capable of making C$2.5m" in 2008, i.e about £1.25m PBT.

Given that VDI achieved the expected small adjusted operating profit in H2'07 I'd hope for at minimum continued and improved profitability, especially given the number of contract wins, to go with the £7.5m cash on a £10m m/cap.

Hi Rivaldo.

I've seen your posts on VDI on TMF, and it does look interesting. I shall have a look at their website, as you highlighted above - do you know whether there are any forecasts for them ?

Cheers,
Steve.

Hi ryan. Why not ask the FD? Also, in case you weren't aware there's an excellent Powerpoint presentation on the web site here which is worth downloading, along with lots more detail on the technical pages of the web site:

I have been following this story and dipped my toe in a while back.

I am interested to know what (if any) intellectual property the company holds.
As barriers to entry.

This is the email reply I had from the FD (for what its worth)

'...Thank you for your note, the company has substantial intellectual property which we use to the benefit of our customers, however the key market segment for our firm is the customization of the core technology to meet the specific needs of our customers. This represents our strategic competitive advantage over our competitors who are restricted in the flexibility of the solutions they provide...'

So once the core technology gets adopted only certain 'solutions' can be married to it..
Any comments?

I e-mailed the FD. Apparently the CEO "is in the UK this week attending a key industry trade show and is taking the opportunity to meet with institutional investors as well."

In addition, VDI are "considering further information sessions between now and the end of June to carry the message".

The message being that "The Board and Management agree that VDI is undervalued, we continue to believe in the future success of our strategy with continued financial improvement and contract wins ahead."

I like the sound of more contract wins :o))

Hopefully the institutional meetings and a new broker note will generate a degree of interest.

I understand that Peel Hunt should get a new broker note out in "early June". Perhaps that will make the investment community sit up and listen.
