21/10/2004 12:22 | do you think they would get away with a rights issue at that price now? | jnbrw
21/10/2004 12:22 | No dilution in real terms now isis.:-)) If you get any for 1.5p good luck but there will line to join...Tom has an order in for 1.5 million at 1.5p. | clocktower
21/10/2004 12:20 | gg - reckoned £500k for Advisors fees - which turned out to be £2.2 million - therefore wiping out any profit and sending them into a loss situation. But now you have to sack a load of staff to get back into gear - which will wipe nect years profit.....so your f'kcd for now Rights issue @1.5p.....on the cards.............. | isis
21/10/2004 12:16 | ct - gg reckoned they would making millions this year and next, but did'nt factor in the costs of dilution and advisors HUGE fees. So once they've hived those off - which could take a couple of years - they may get EBITDA profit. Too many shares floating around - but I reckon they will bounce off 1.5p regardless.......... | isis
21/10/2004 12:13 | better ask geko as his expertise with predictions and projections is unrivalled | jnbrw
21/10/2004 12:10 | With my estimates of a profit before one-offs in the region of £2 million. A 4p+ is more like fair value. | clocktower
21/10/2004 12:05 | isis - mercenary? - not at all more like sound economics ...... and in any case I'd rather be mercenary than a muppet. euro99 - 6-8M is a very sensible value for a company in a highly volatile sector that is constantly making often expensive acquistions and issuing shares and that appears to be constantly surprising and dismaying its shareholders imo. Besides I thought many of the current shareholders on here are always complaining that so little is known about the true state of the company's balance sheet and accuurate turnover/cashburn figures after so many acquisitions? | jnbrw
21/10/2004 11:55 | JNBRW since when was a market cap of 6MM a sensible value for a company which has 12MM++ revenues in the current year? | euro99
21/10/2004 11:49 | ......you're a merceneary.......... | isis
21/10/2004 11:33 | possibly a buy at 0.75/1.0 as then the mkt cap becomes something approaching a reasonable valuation given the current risks and earnings outlook - but still a great deal of uncertainty surrounding this one imo | jnbrw
21/10/2004 11:32 | Bottom - buy @1.5p just for the sheer hell of it! | isis
21/10/2004 11:23 | Thought I'd pop in & see how we are getting on... on the Titanic thread.I'll keep saying this..."surely it can't get any worse!" luchan. | luchan
21/10/2004 09:15 | Have there been any follow up comments from the investment magazines that tipped VTB a few months ago? | nicknamesrsilly
21/10/2004 08:49 | LOL.....Maybe it was that dogs tongue that turned LL on. We might hear from Euro99 again....re: rumours Tom.....ready to put up £22k today I see, we shall see if the MM drop the price to try to fill part of your order. | clocktower
20/10/2004 23:06 | It's just one of the directors playing the Riddler! I was going to say stick with the day job but on the other hand may be not. | easytimes
20/10/2004 21:35 | get back to porn films lady liz | tom2468
20/10/2004 21:35 | Good grief CT!!! PS. Any truth in the rumour you insist on wearing women's clothes to post as Lady Liz? | exotic
20/10/2004 21:32 | Uncle Sam was called away I hear he is back today I am told he will soon make up for the delay He will show he has been worth his pay | lady liz
20/10/2004 21:02 | easytimes, You make a reasonable point. Further acquisitions should be out of the question for the time being. VTB(WTV) are in a great position to leverage their existing clients and create a very profitable business - remember VTB's organic growth was 29% (over 60% annualised). My one major concern is that with the bid price over 50% lower than the day of results directors are still not buying in any decent quantities. Who knows? Maybe they have buy orders out right now? This stock has completely lost the confidence of the market. Massive director buys could cause the price to shoot up 25%+ together with more transparent trading updates. | allstar4eva
20/10/2004 20:45 | 1.5p could be sooner than you think. A hypothetical question in response to WTV's business outlook - Can you guess how many shares would need to be issued for an acquisition of say £2 million with the share price currently flat on its back? This is something I just cannot get to grips with wrt this company 1) Institutions won't touch this company with a barge pole until it produces the results before going on another acquisition trail 2) current shareholders are very unlikely to support an acquisition either due to share dilution. If one is on the cards we could see the share price with a 1p mid price quite easily. Let's hope the board see sense and recognise the importance of their shareholders before looking to the stock market as a means to raise more money for doing nowt. | easytimes
20/10/2004 19:51 | lol exotic | tom2468
20/10/2004 18:49 | I have raised enough cash and placed an order for 1.5million shares at a price of 1.5p I dont expect to get it however but if I do it will get tongues wagging ;-) | tom2468
20/10/2004 16:35 | The darkest day yet for a few long time for holders of VTB stock. Still I thank those that sold that enabled me to pick up a few more, if it goes lower then I may yet get to add a few million more. Lets hope better news will not be long in coming for us suffering shareholders. Have a good night. | clocktower
20/10/2004 13:25 | If it interests anyone, I have cut this from another thread. triktrak - 20 Oct'04 - 12:07 - 9659 of 9661 CT I notice you mention quite frequently on here the fact that you own shares in VTB. Frankly, I was flabbergasted to learn of the amount that they were paying for World Television. I work in the television news business and have a slight knowledge of WTV, having visited their offices. I also know a number of people who work there. World TV was started a number of years ago by a couple of guys who used to work for Greenpeace. They did very well for themselves and their company took a great step forward in the industry when - against some people's expectations - it secured the British Satellite News (BSN) contract from the Foreign Office. The contract had previously been held by APTN who inherited it from their take-over of WTN. Indeed, the guys at WTN who originally negotiated the contract - and were made redundant at the time of WTN's take-over - set up their own company, Phoenix TV, and were confident of winning the contract away from APTN. But, to their surprise, the contract was awarded to World TV. Not being an investor in VTB, I have no idea when the BSN contract is up for renewal. But be warned that the Foreign Office doesn't always show loyalty to the current contract holder. end. Anyone any ideas about this contract? | clocktower |
