Pan Pacific Aggregates gives new investor seat on board

Aggregates group Pan Pacific (LON:PPA) has appointed Nicholas Lee to its board after his group Viridas (LON:VIR) backed a recent fundraising by the Canada-focused quarry owner.
Lee is chairman of AIM-listed investment group Viridas, which bought 12 million shares in Pan Pacific's recent placing.
That gave it a 16.52 per cent stake in Pan Pacific, which has a quarry and other aggregates assets in and around Vancouver.
Lee, a former chartered accountant and merchant banker, is also head of corporate finance at Novus Capital Markets and is a director of a number of other resources and mining investment companies.
Lynda Chase-Gardener, Pan Pacific's executive chairman, commented: "We are delighted that Nick has decided to join the board as a non-executive director with immediate effect.
Nick has a wealth of investment banking and mining experience which will enable him to make a significant contribution to the strategic development of the business."
Pan Pacific shares are 2.75 pence compared to a placing price of 2.5 pence. The placing raised £780,000 net for Pan Pacific.
Viridas also owns 6 million warrants in Pan Pacific that are exercisable at 5 pence.

sweepie2 , hello , STI (stratex) is looking good , they might struck a deal in iraq , the country has as much gold as oil , they do not NO the how technology .

Skiboy10 - nice to see you have added the list of assets and their value to the header. Let's hope people actually notice it's there and read it.

sweepie2 - I have to say the investment in PPA was unexpected but perhaps the company will turn things around with the new investment. While I feel sorry for any long term holders in PPA, VIR certainly got in cheap and we have to presume they didn't do it without access to a lot more information than the average PI gets. VIR have also shown that they are happy to sell at a profit so perhaps this is not a long term investment.

LDP flying, must be news leaking, VIR still have their warrents so this rebound must be adding to VIR NAV. Still want additional information about PPA, just too mamny negative vibes about that company

still got a hunch they shorted ldp after selling their holding with the 166,666,667 warrants...think the trades went through at 0.46 or 0.48p and it was 50m + 50m + 66,666,667 surely not a coincidence...imo.

if ldp falls quickly tomorrow we may see.

Surprised that the price hasn't dropped further and over at the PPA thread its being said that within a few months the company will probably be out of money again. Not the start to a new investment that I would have expected, I hope NL hasn't bitten off too much. There must be value somewhere
