Unsure if it adds to the power iL, but certainly increases the lifetime of the battery and stops it falling apart, now where is that article?

I have no idea if the world will take up graphene but their are 1000's or scientists and hundreds of companies that have been trying to crack production for over 10 years.

No matter where you look a repeated issue is a viable source of supply for quality few layer GNPs.

Across the world the majors are partnering up with the graphene institutes.

What I do know due to the last 3 years of looking is that VRS seem to have a world lead. Few layer very high quality and cost effective.

Goldman sachs suggest it's a revolution on the way. Airbus, Boeing, Boeing and Versarien were all at a pretty much closed invite event back in September. No mention at all of it by VRS. So clearly the big names are interested in graphene and VRS graphene.

So on the basis of what VRS have, the CEO and world interest in the topic I think it's highly likely there will be a demand for Nanene and the ink.

So imo a fair bet based on a lot of research. That ignores the games of funds and MMs, and market manipulation.

But folk should do their own research. To me there is the potential for genuine considerable upside here.

With the lithium boom going on currently if investors took the time to look into graphene they would see some amazing potential.

Supercapacitors and batteries

Increased processing power means increased energy usage. Graphene’s applications in battery and capacitor technology will deliver huge advances across the low-power device market.

BTW

If you hang on a day or two there may be a write up somewhere and you then can see what they think.

I didn't notice the crossover between Cambridge Graphene and 2D Tech before, it's always good to read and re-read what you think you know.

'We supply proprietary Graphene inks and develop proprietary IP in products and scaled-up processes for licensing. We undertake development projects for customers in application areas including, but not limited to:
High performance inks for conductive applications
Printed conductive inks for flexible electronics, antennas and a range of new products. Graphene inks can be cheaper, flexible, printable and better for the environment than traditional circuit board solutions.

Graphene enhanced composites
Graphene has been shown to significantly modify the characteristics of composite materials. Exactly which form of graphene and functionalisation to use in specific applications is a development challenge for manufacturers. We undertake projects to define the recipe required for commercial products.

I am getting the impression that people (including me) are focussing on the McLaren /TTP thing and if that is not the case then VRS value is low. Amazing how quickly we forget the avenues that are being explored/opened up. The RNS was only a few days ago and the 'working together' is quite a coup for little 'ol VRS once again.

It is one of those companies that has done all the marketing, spread it's roots and with a little patience we will all see where it goes.

'Robert Moss, Group Managing Director of Lansdowne Chemicals, commented: "The wonder material graphene fits perfectly into our existing, expansive portfolio of specialty chemical additives, underlining our strengths as an innovative global company with a service built on loyalty, enthusiasm and quality.

"Working together, it is our intention that Nanene will increase the efficiency of modern day products, decrease waste and emissions and reduce the current overreliance of finite natural resources. We hope that this will help to support the chemical industry in becoming environmentally sustainable.

"Versarien is a company built on similar philosophies to our own and we have already established a strong relationship. We are very happy for this official partnership to begin and look forward to the future working together."

Neill Ricketts, CEO of Versarien, commented: "Now that we have proven capacity and capability to produce Nanene we need to get this new product to market as quickly as possible, to as many as possible and by every appropriate route. The agreement with Lansdowne Chemicals will be an important development for us and we are pleased to have secured the support of a significant global chemical distributor. They are extremely well known to us and we look forward to utilising their distribution channels, especially in Europe."

Whilst I agree to some extent with SN's reasoning for 'normal' growth stocks I think 'this time it's different' similar to the once in a generation dot com boom where it was important for long term growth for Companies to do a land grab and gain 'mindshare' early.

To push for profits at this stage would be a failure to understand the required strategy and would let down shareholders. Those who understand the story want higher losses as an indicator the Company are 'going for it' thus why others with less tangible products/assets/partnerships are valued at more than VRS to the disbelief of sg1

So I'm afraid this is exactly the wrong metric to judge VRS by SN : "but I fail to see the simple and straightforward focus on turning a profit"

Time will tell, as you say SN. Early days for the graphene side in any case.Personally I love a good story and VRS certainly has one of those.I'm more than happy to see where it leads, but quite understand others desire for profits and the like. Again, from a personal point of view, always seems a shame to ruin a good story with talk of profits, but NR keeps threatening to do just that.On a slightly more serious note, volume increase is indicating, least to me, there is serious and increasing interest in VRS and the volume sign is one I'm always very pleased to see.

tp - your defence is the same as everybody else's - I paraphrase: 'it's such a great story, something has to come out of it'. My response is that I also think it's a fantastic story - how graphene is going to revolutionize the world, how vrs has access to the finest scientific brains in the field, how vast the addressable market is - but I fail to see the simple and straightforward focus on turning a profit, managing cash, building sustainable long term revenues that makes a good business. The powerful narrative distracts from the dull need to keep more cash flowing in than is flowing out.

Ricketts and co have had plenty of time to prove their mettle here, but all they've actually done is use shareholder funds to build a toy shop and grant money to keep it running. Great toys and great fun, but great business? Still a lot to prove, I'd say. Time will tell...

Personally I don't think VRS's prospects hinge on whether something is revealed on Friday or not.I think that VRS have something that is more than interesting in the graphene space and, as far as I can see, they are as well placed, if not better, than most to succeed here. That doesn't mean VRS are immune from criticism and I welcome SN's robust questioning, nothing wrong in that and some fair points raised. Although I do feel that the past performance is not necessarily a guide to the future. NR has built out a strong looking graphene offering at very little cost and whatever else happens there is surely no denying that VRS have access to some of the top global names in the graphene space. That doesn't guarantee success but it sure must help.I've also had VRS on my radar for some time and yes, it is fair to say they have not always covered themselves in glory to date. But this doesn't look like your typical 'milk it' AIM type company. Salaries are relatively modest, cash burn is low and they also seem an investor friendly bunch.Having said that, I freely admit I might be biased as I've held the shares for little more than 6 months and I'm sporting a pushing 100% gain. I'm getting to quite like this lot! More to come as well, I feel. £24m or so m.cap is hardly excessive.

Thank you KLF - that's most kind. I can only say in my defence that I've been watching the company since its listing (ie since well before posts from yourself, or superg1, or even spike, were seen), and have been consistently critical from the beginning. So far I've been consistently right too, which I have to admit I don't often manage.

Maybe Friday will see a transformation of prospects, but I remain more than a little sceptical.

supernumerary is not your average troll so rising to the bait isn't really sensible

I think he raises some fair points

Remember just a few weeks ago our glorious leader Mr Ricketts unveiled a profit warning which briefly took the stock into the 9's.

There really is no need to take absolutist positions and see VRS as beyond criticism or unworthy of robust questioning and analysis.

Oh dear Spike, on the sauce again? A pity you've nothing useful to say - I guess that's what comes from having too much at stake on a story rather than a business...

You should read superg1 on the subject:

'Careful planning re a production facility and all looking good. Then that rns yesterday. IMO what a stupid idea. That just created a money pit funding facility for Manchester university with huge odds stacked against them of ever getting nay returns.

While those guys discovered the stuff, they have no patents. The likes of Samsung have loads.

Haydale floated yesterday in this sector and raised £6m for their research.

It's just money down the drain for nothing. Graphene will not be commercial for many years and 100's of millions will be spent by the big guns, VRS imo have no chance in that sector.'

So what do you think might happen on Friday? The hexagons on the F1 cars presumably relate in some way to a new sponsor, who can hardly be Versarien. Any ideas who it might be?

Even if vrs manage to sell some graphene to McLaren, how much money can there be in it? They only make about half-a-dozen cars a year - if they were solid graphene it probably wouldn't pay the vrs overheads - and all the teams will have their own suppliers so there's no market pull. The only man who ever made a profit out of F1 is Bernie Ecclestone, and he made it by screwing the rest of them. I somehow doubt Ricketts is that sharp...

It's interesting to watch the video you've put in the header. Coincidentally it dates from almost exactly two years ago - early Feb 2015 - but if you didn't know you'd be hard pressed to realise it wasn't a couple of weeks ago. They were all banging on about F1 and composites and the possibilities for graphene inks and blah blah blah... Two years passed, and nothing's changed.

Since the 'big' order in November last year, there've been two RNSNONs - one announcing a new product name (yawn - did it have a new part number too?), and the other announcing a Heads of Agreement with a distributor (are they for real - an agreement to agree an agreement with a distributor!) but absolutely nothing to indicate they're getting revenue or (God forbid) profit traction.

If Friday's McLaren reveal is anything less than very supportive, there's likely to be blood on the floor here...

A bit different this afternoon with some buying having no impact. WNTS dropped the offer to 20.5 but buys were still about the 20.5 level didn't last too long. ISDX hopped it to sell at 20.49 but then WNTS went back onto 21p.

Friday is Mclaren launch day we can only wait and guess if they are using graphene. If not in F1 it must be in the supercars otherwise what is Boullier going on about.

Either way there may be something else Friday.

Handy

I quite liked the Novalia idea for medication and printed inks with rfids.

Instead of the folk that take many regularly wondering if they took their meds when each blister gets popped the circuit is broken and timed so you know when you took them.
