On that zulu paragraph

'to do their own digging, to read between the lines and interpret information in a way that will give them an edge.'

I have the GNP side sticking it head up but note other bits.

Heat sinks.

In theory due to lack of individual news their first product order with an OEM is small. So the OEM clearly replaced something else and sees the heat sink as an improvement. Being an OEM there must be more business there but the first demonstration and use of the heat sinks is in play and on the OEM radar.

GNPs

BOD Iain Gray ex MD at Airbus---- VRS CT engineering collaboration----- CT are global in aerospace

CT manager comment in the news

The unique combination of CT Engineering's position as a first tier supplier to Airbus Group specialising in advanced composite research and design, and Versarien's proprietary graphene technology, will rapidly move this venture forward and produce a range of innovative products that will disrupt the current aerospace component market."

NGI news re enhanced carbon fibre performance working with VRS GNPs and staff. NGI list partners which include Airbus.

That's just one chain of many in VRS.

I say and staff because they have the ability to produce few layer high quality GNPs and can effectively disperse them and after 2 years of trials have shown the performance improvement. They don't just provide the airfix kit and glue with an instruction manual they have expertise for hire too to show the customers what works and what doesn't work.

I'm not saying they might get interest from Airbus, but then why is there such a strong line of connection to Airbus top to bottom.

Then of course the speciality of CT engineering is 'a global business, specialising in the design of carbon fibre technology for the aerospace industry'

No I don't think it's an announcement he is one of many speakers and has a particular topic to discuss as listed.

Networking in such an environment is just that as 100's are doing the same thing. In most cases it's about potential to do something for start ups. Just like the bios there is a big difference to potential and verifiable proof, there is a big difference. Graphene potentially can transform computers in the next 10-20 years. Composites can be tarnsformed now with the same product but the vast majority talk about it and haven't proved it. The hold up has been viable scale up and proof of performance, demand is there if the ingredients are available.

but these events are as much about net-working and contacts as anything else. Sure, he won't be going all that way just for a speech, but as for any announcement, well, that would be nice but it's still a long way to go to make an announcement!
Perhaps he could do all three, build up that important contact and technology dossier, give the speech and announce some goodies, bingo!

Just thinking on that and the timing of plastics and carbon fibre comments.

Last time he was there VRS had a great idea on paper re GNPs use. Now going back he can say, produce them, mix them stick them into Platics PEEK and carbon fibre and here are the verified results shwoing the performance increase. Just going by Hexcel comments that's what Hexcel wanted before they would speak to anyone.

Oh and patented in the US.

Well VRS are not exhibiting at the event like the others going so I can't see him being there for a quick 10 min chat and he did say he wouldn't attend events like that just to advertise VRS.

Santa Clara is Silicon valley and VRS have been there before by invite. Only 12 invites to EU companies 2 in the UK VRS being one of them.

So he isn't there just to give a speech. Far too busy to waste time and money on an end of day short chat at and event imo.

Sept 15

Versarien plc (AIM: VRS), the advanced engineering materials group is pleased to announce that its CEO, Neill Ricketts has been invited to attend the Startup Europe Comes to Silicon Valley (SEC2SV) conference in San Francisco on the 22 September 2015.

The SEC2SV program, running over three days, is an invitation only series of events and workshops that allows high growth companies to learn from, debate and exchange ideas with Silicon Valley investors, successful serial entrepreneurs, and experts on how and why they have come to create and fund today's most disruptive technologies. The attendees will also be taken to the offices of Google and Apple as part of the program and spend time pitching their businesses to some of the most influential investors in Silicon Valley.

Versarien CEO, Neill Ricketts commented "It is an honour to have been invited to participate in the Startup Europe Comes to Silicon Valley programme, especially when there has only been one other UK company invited and 12 from Europe as a whole. It is these sorts of events that really help companies like Versarien develop as an international player. It is a direct invitation to talk to Silicon Valley investors, a fantastic opportunity considering that we see the US becoming another key market for us, following on from the granting of our patent in the USA."

Do you think there will be any announcements emanating from the Conference tomorrow ?

The way they have scheduled the Investor Presentation prior to that makes it look like there is a definite plan in place.

"This is what we're going to do"
"Pow! and here it is"

I note for example the Jaguar I-Pace announced today with prospective production in 2018 and a battery range of 500km. All the talk of working with them and WMG all seems to fit together?

500km range from a battery is a major step change so one wonders where they get that performance uplift from ?

On very little action L2 tightened up this morning.

WNTS were lonley on the bid at 12.5 with next best on 11 and 3 on 13 on the offer.

WNTS now 12.75 bid and PLHC slotted in behind on 12.5 with SHOC to 11.75.

Offer side 2 x13, 2x 13,75 and 1 x 14.

Just mentioning re the supply that had been in play. No big late reports either so perhaps that supply has gone. The circs that got us to that L2 are around £10k worth of buys.

ISDX off the park for now on a 12.75-13.75 spread

I quite like this acquisition synergy type business plan and rarely see it on an AIM company.

Typically I'm used to idea, hype it, fleece the market for cash, spend it, hype it, fleece the market again on a cycle 5,10 and 15 years long for some until it's diluted into oblivion and in some cases still no revenue. What a great business plan especially as many pay themselves £250k per year for doing virtually nothing.

Just totted it up and in theory with nothing happening here due to the methods employed when a full year embeds for each business on the bits we know then the current rate is around £10 mill per year revenue.

I do pick on AGM I know but I just happen to know their figures. Sales £70k wages this year somewhere beyond the £3 mill mark on an as yet unproven faltering production process (source annual reports). All they can do currently is produce low levels of graphene below the standard they expected (it's in their reports). However their news paints a different picture of making big progress. All they have at the moment is a failing plan on graphene production.

So for the folks that just look at figures they will see a growing VRS revenue but probably won't appreciate why.

I has a quick look at the carbide and heat sink side just to see what may be there.

I know the CEO said he was surprised the acquired company had not approached the aerospace sector in the past. From the annual report I note

'We are developing new market opportunities and products aimed at the defence and aerospace industries, and during the year secured our first supply agreement in the latter.'

They also clearly had their first commercial order for the new heat sinks but just slipped it into results unlike some companies I know.

'We gained 83 new customers via our US distributor'

'The copper foam product is now gaining market validation with its first contract win for use in consumer devices now negotiated.'

'Strong enquiry pipeline following significant investment in last 24 months and first OEM contract negotiated for low profile copper foam heat sinks in consumer devices.'

So it does have some traction.

ISDX spread just reflects WNTS spread, which is 12-13, which , at 1p, is the best spread.
Apart from Peel Hunt, who have 1.5p spread, the rest are on 2p spread

the reality , of course, is that the actual spread is very much tighter than what is indicated.

Aha

ISDX must be low too. As this bit is relatively new to view I hadn't seen a difference on the spread before. MMs 12-12.5 and ISDX 12-13.

Is it a game or is the end of that supply in sight. WINS off the offer to 12.75 now from 12.5 and on the offer at 11.75.

That's better more typical view now of Wins on the bid but right off the offer. Had mine turned down.

May be plenty to go for all we know and be good to get into a churn situation if the supply is near gone.

Not much of a warning, 12.15 all the way then £1200 worth at 12.24 meant the next buy had to pay 12.44 for about £2.5ks worth. ??

yes, WINS have moved their quoted offer up whilst holding the bid price
the 10K trade went through just before @ 12.24, so you could be right, supply tightening....

Tru dat!

You could get 150k @ 12.15 this morning... unless it's just a lunchtime thing, supply has tightened quite sharply as I type.
