pvb - Your conversion looks a little light. Selftrade gave me 26.5p. The official $/sterling rate was ~1.689 on Friday which would imply about 0.65% conversion charges.
However, they may have got a better rate last Thursday whereas today with the pound pushing to $1.70 it would imply no conversion charge at all. (Unlikely!)

Received first dividend from VZC into my ISA ON 1 May, at the nett rate of 26.33p per share. Seems reasonable to me. If the $0.53 shown above for this dividend is accurate, then a current (rough) conversion gives £0.31.

So 26.33p is pretty nearly 15% down from this. Which is the US witholding tax rate with W-8BEN signed etc.

How does this compare with others?

The share price is struggling - I would expect a better performance at this stage
next Monday is the last day before xd on Tuesday the 8th of April

You are correct.
The header shows you that the Ex div date for the next dividend is in April.

This is probably a silly question. As new Virizon share holders do we get the dividend on the 1-5-14. As I said probably a silly question.

you mean before the xd date which is 08.04.14

I'm trying to decide whether or not to sell before the divi announcement. 52 week high over $50. A couple of dollars on the share price in the run-up to the divi announcement would add a reasonable ammount to my holding before I sell out.

Both!

Slightly more in dollars, slightly less in sterling.

2013 dividends were 208.71¢, 2014 forecast is 213.93¢.

The next quarterly dividend is 53 cents payable on 01/05/2014.

The next XD date has not been announced yet, in previous years it was:
07/04/2010, 06/04/2011, 05/04/2012, 08/04/2013.

Obviously the share is likely to drop after it goes Ex div (though you will get the dividend). However unless you hold them in a SIPP you will have to deal with the complexities of US witholding tax if you do not sell them before the Ex div date.

I would expect the share to peak the day before and to drop thereafter
you say it was 08.04 last year with announcement not until 08.03
