13/12/2016 14:15 | fluky I'm not sure I agree with your comments above re start-up. Looking at the 21.9.16 RNS is talks about pre-commissioning, commissioning and start-up. It also talks about final loan drawdown in Q1 2017 with majority of loan drawdown being in 2016, beginning Q4 2016. My reading is that start-up is in Q1 2017 matching with final loan drawdown. I recall some mention of 6mths to commission and start-up, and that process started late July from memory. So my guess is January. I don't think they would be issuing a strategy doc (however woolly) if there was a real problem. Are you trying to pull the xmas share price back to your 35p ? ;) gac141 "a bit quiet". blimey, seasonal affective disorder ? we are close to the shortest day. come on man you need to be wrestling the xmas competition out of fluky's hands - or we are facing a glum festive period. Here to cheer you up, some of your favourite words unsaid: ... ... | visionon
13/12/2016 14:05 | I am also disappointed with the outcome of the review. I'm still hopeful however, we will hear re ENVIA by the 31st of December. We have not been notified of any changes to the planned completion date. | fern5
13/12/2016 13:35 | I am glad to see more scepticism towards the Velocys news release... I was expecting a "good news" press release about the first drop of FT product by the ENVIA plant rather than a report of a disappointing strategic review. I am afraid that this means that the startup ran into problems. The fact that the news release says "...commissioning is ongoing" is not good. They should be way past the commissioning phase by now and be in the start-up phase. I agree with Dogwalker: this reads like the business model of a start-up which tries to raise a first round of investment. | fluky
13/12/2016 13:35 | Yes, I can see what you're saying RFL. Diesel has become a bit of a dirty word though. If we take the car industry as an example, some have started to say that longer term they will stop making diesel engines and this may lead others to follow suit. Nothing will happen in the short term, however, I wonder whether VLS might be better concentrating on Jet Fuel, waxes, etc. etc. and taking a longer term strategy. | fern5
13/12/2016 13:22 | I believe the diesel problems being highlighted at the moment are the NOx and soot emissions. Newer engines have DPF,s fitted (diesel particulate filters) which is a get out so they confirm with emissions regulations. From personal experience these are a nightmare and cause all sorts of problems especially if the car is filled with diesel mixed with bio, which clogs up the system and stops it from regenerating (raising the temperature so the emission build up burns off) I was under the impression that as VLS diesel is a cleaner burn it does not have such a problem with emissions as petrol derived diesel. | realfreeloader
13/12/2016 11:31 | I'm surprised that they still have diesel as part of the plans, given the current atmosphere of a political and scientific backlash against it | fern5
13/12/2016 11:20 | Surely today's document is what you produce at the preliminary proposals stage of a start-up? Here, we seem to have built our factory first & only now are getting round to thinking about 'why'; & what we're going to do with it. Scary. | dogwalker
13/12/2016 11:09 | Presumably nothing much is happening which is why this waffle was published. Reminds me of the sort of stuff spouted by Roy Lipski. This share will do nothing without 'hard' news. | meijiman
13/12/2016 10:57 | Yes I am a bit quiet this morning as I expected more meat on the bone than we have got. I attended the AGM in June and the commentary was very similar. I wanted to see what progress we have made and who we will form partnerships with. | gac141
13/12/2016 10:21 | Agreed Deutsch3 there does seem a lot of waffle. This CEO was appointed almost 12mths ago and I expected more by now i.e. a strategy and named partners. What comes through quite clearly is that VLS component of GTL plants is too small for them to drive the market adoption without partners. And if they sit around waiting for orders and doing presentations/feasib Clearly they have presented to major holders prior to this and got support, although at 35p share price v major holders average share price that's a logical outcome !! i.e. hands tied. I guess the presentation came too early for the influence of the UK RTFO consultation. VLS focus is very much on N.America/Canada but UK/EU could come into play during that initial 5yr period as their RTFO mandating is with 2020 onwards in mind. Detaching myself from being a shareholder for 5yrs (groan), if VLS were being offered to me now as a new investment i might consider £50m cap as reasonable but would want to see ENVIA working as planned to press the buy button. Finally, on a lighter note, only 9 trading days left in the xmas share price competition...and it's Musard duking it out at the front with the ever positive Fluky ;) | visionon
13/12/2016 10:01 | My thoughts exactly... lots of waffle and little substance. | goodgrief
13/12/2016 09:56 | Who are these partners who 'we' are going to lead? - Furthermore, do these partners intend providing working capital and if so on what terms. - Also where is 'Small Scale' GTL in all of this? - There is an awful lot of business waffle in this release!- Still small scale jam tomorrow it seems! | deutsch3
08/12/2016 14:51 | In contrast to others with more than one moniker, I've been operating the same moniker with different users. This has proved to be a disater recently with innappropriate messages going out. That's been stopped here now, but on reflection might explain my problem above. | dogwalker
08/12/2016 14:46 | What happened to my post - no. 3291 - yesterday ? In it, I had congratulated E J on his purchases, identifying them from the trades page, & ticked up his post. It's been wiped out & replaced by tongosti's one today ! Mystery. VLS is a solid member of my 'dogs' portfolio, & is poised to do well. Hopefully it'll get uprated to our 'stars' list soon. | dogwalker
08/12/2016 12:10 | I suspect your timing will be as impeccable as ever E. J. This is no Blur, although even that dog has had it's 300% day of late. Not that I have many left. Your opinions on VlS are valid. Christmas is coming & a tiny Christmas rise ? Newsflow well timed ? Cheers Hay. | haydock
08/12/2016 09:39 | Bad move am afraid. At this stage, this company may be good for short term trading purposes only. otherwise it is still a dog with fleas | tongosti
06/12/2016 23:30 | share price seems to be holding its breath too | woolybanana
06/12/2016 13:50 | This is a very big moment for Velocys.. The world will be watching... | gac141
06/12/2016 13:32 | The ENVIA product is presold, one assumes; it will be interesting to try and discover what kind of money it generates for Velocys. The company are staying schtum, as is expected. | woolybanana
06/12/2016 13:02 | I get the feeling we'll get an ENVIA update very soon and it will be positive news for us all. | gac141
04/12/2016 15:02 | Would we expect the rise in PoO to have some effect on sentiment here, as we wait for ENVIA to get started? | brucie5 |
