I have heard from Velocys that RA Is both "friendly and supportive"... That tells you a lot about his intentions..he hopes to make Velocys a huge success.

If this field develops, one has to consider the patent situation.
VLS has the lot !
I cannot really see why RA. does not grab them at this stage, perhaps the reason is political ?
Prefers to keep a lower profile with USA patents ?

There is no doubt in my mind that the more people that get involved in GTL type projects the better it is for us. It validates why we have invested $300m in it and others too. There is more than enough supply for all of us x100... Exciting few weeks ahead me thinks....

Performance. The link provided had numbers to compare against.

SH: Which FT numbers? Performance, capital expenditures, operational expenditures? Just curious: what is your basis to make that statement?

This was bound to be volatile, and given the time to earnings, risky. But I'm pleased that it has not crashed down to earth, as higher risk recovery situations often do. I'm more than willling to give it the benefit of the doubt while we wait for ENVIA to come on line. In the meantime, the chart is still intact, despite yesterday's DEPLORABLE political action over the pond.

Someone else is developing technology to make synthetic fuels:

Karlsruhe Institute of Technology, Germany and Ineratec, a spinoff of KIT.

SH: Which numbers make the Velocys' solution look better?

Well if this crowd can get and injection of £30+m then there is no doubt we could get substantially more... I think this is really what David is alluding to and I would be VERY surprised if we don't hear about major strategic partners this side of the New year.

From the numbers, Velocys' solution looks to be better. Whether they get similar investment is another question.

Fulcrum's GTL FT partner is Emerging Fuels Technology

Meanwhile BP have invested in Fulcrum. While we still wait for Red Rock to FID their plant...hmm.

So this result might be positively interesting for Velocys.

DT is a great fan of Coal so the coal to liquids plants should expect a boost and on renewables and on other renewables it was said recently that he was still in favor of the Renewable Fuel standard's RIN credits.

With this in mind Velocys looks to be unaffected at worst.

Listened to it. Doesn't give any figures on likely earnings per GTL, but then I guess that depends on sizes and other circs. However they believe at the time (Feb 2016) that the share price reflects only the likelihood of about three plants; whereas they envisage several dozen.

As you say, GAC, the other point concerns the higher value waxes.

Thanks Gac, I'll listen to this. I appreciate your tenacity here, you've clearly been a believer for some time. These kinds of shares can be very dangerous to one's wealth, but if the story comes together, they can conversely, have the opposite effect. As a penny share, it carries some baggage and an amber light, to mix my metaphors. And I'd like to see some meaningful orders, before I too can thoroughly start believing!

RA supported CAP, until it went under last year. Similar sort of niche situation with great potential. I think he became interested in a slew of environmental situations and VLS is the only one to my mind in which he remains invested, and has indeed upped his stake. (But please correct me!)

This is worth a re-listen to... It gives the views of Alex Brooks of Canaccord Genuity Analyst. This was in February....

It demonstrates the disconnect we should have with the price of Oil and should be priced more in connection with the price of "Specialist Products" such as waxes with can go for as much as $300/b. This is what East Oak will be producing and an "Ashtabula" type plant as well.

Yup. Been looking. Would be curious to hear further analysis of why Woodford cut his stake. Sounds to me like a blue sky stock with scalability - but the risks are still to some extent present in the time to sales and profits.

Huge backing from the Everington group, aka Roman Abramovich. And the technology seems to be reaching the end of its expensive R&D cycle - like several other plays that I'm familiar with. While I understand the advantages of having ENVIA up and running as a showcase, how long before we have actual sales of the mini GTL plants? The scaling up of this technology, and its manufacture, is presumably, the business case going forward. gac, can you tell me who will be doing the manufacturing, and on what basis, and to what scalability?

Sorry to be so ignorant.

Added again this morning. Certainly at the risky end of the investment spectrum, but the chart looks to have completed its retracement. And what a chart it seems to be! Let's hope next week's election doesn't reverse it.
