Just discovered an interesting connection between Revolution Fuels and Red Rock Biofuels (RRB). RRB's gasifier technology - to convert biomass into syngas - is provided by TCG Global. TGC's company address is the same as Revolution Fuels, LLC. Coincidence? The major part of a coal-to-liquids plant is the gasifier. So the connection becomes more obvious. The drawback is that TGC's gasifier technology does not get high praise. Could this be the reason why the RRB project is not moving forward? Just an update for some new viewers.

Velocys have stated on a number of occasions that they hope to progress quickly to FID with a US Fuels player.

Here is the Air permit approval for the company Revolution Fuels.



Wonder when FID will be....

I hope so, but there is a runway issue. Velocys will need a capital injection to get that far.

Nothing will happen until the East Oak plant is operational. But once it is and it confirms the scale-ability of the technology together with the new 700bpd reactors... yes I think they will get their investment.....

gac141: It would be good news if Red Rock Biofuels had confirmed the FID. Per my posting 3010, the expected profit from this project is $6M spread over the 2 years of construction. The profit generated from the biannual catalyst replacement starts in year 4 after FID. Velocys needs 5 more Red Rock projects fast...

Red Rock revenues Velocys quoted the following...
"Successful execution of Red Rock's project in Oregon is expected to result in revenues to Velocys in excess of $15 million during construction, and an additional $30 million or more over the life of the facility. Red Rock is targeting final investment decision on the project within 6 months, with construction lasting about 18-24 months"

The overhang seems to have almost gone if indeed it may have gone completely. Good to see the shares tick up so well in a tough market.

I am sure we have good news to come very soon.... Then we can start to rebuild the decimated share price.....

they are talking about Heathrow/Gatwick on weekend politics show BBC.

perhaps the government might place a condition that all flights using any new runway must refuel with a proportion of sustainable fuel. that would open the door for a possible MSW to jet fuel plant. a lot of the waste could presumably come from the airport itself.

Strange but that also coincides with something that gac141 noted back at the end of August as a groundbreaking ceremony being set for the same day.Obviously that's not going to happen as you would have thought we would have heard,but we may get more news on progress
