What will really move this share, is if airportr does an iPo, and applies for a market listing...

I'm guessingg they're probably a year or two Way from that though. Presumably they'll need to demo a couple of years of consistent trading/growth I'd imagine...

BTL reduced stake (but adding back in the £100k realisation and the value of the warrants) now worth £1.9m alone (and ignoring the value of all the other investments) against a market cap for VELA of £1.35m

Yep. One of the reasons for the ludicrous discount was the fact that VELA could invest but discount will only narrow when company proves that it can realise its investments (in this case by exiting with a huge profit compared to cost). N.B - forgot about the warrants when trying to calculate the NAV at the weekend and they are currently worth 80,000 dollars at the current price of $3.57 (up another 10% today!).

BTL at 3.7 CAD now and still seeing strong buying. I'll add to my Vela at some stage soon in answer to an earlier question, no panics! Cheers JP

Well done for buying BTL directly Jpuff! Not an option available to me as my broker doesn't allow purchase of shares on overseas exchanges. Back to VELA, the NAV must surely be in excess of .50p now, just adding in the other investments at cost together with cash on balance sheet.So probably trading at one third of assets. Might get an update from company shortly.

Think I will do the same Callum but Vela seems to have so much inertia when it comes to a rising share price and holding onto it. Conversely I bought into BTL Group on the Canadian TSX exchange at 0.5 CAD$ and haven't sold any to date, so well pleased with my return to date over the past year. Gla

721m shares in issue gives market cap for VELA of £1.2m yet BTL stake alone is worth £1.55m now at todays closing price of $3.25, up 33% (and this in a fully quoted stock). Not allowing for all the other investments, including Portr. The discount now is absolutely crazy and must be worth an investment at these levels. Will top up Monday morning!

BTL closed at $2.20 last night. Unless my maths is wrong, that makes the BTL holding worth the entire market cap of VELA with everything else thrown in for nothing. Doesn't seem plausible, though, so probably my maths needs brushing up on!
