|Thanks for taking the time to reply Antony. Do you know edcrane? He too thinks that he is Antony Laiker.|
|The point about achieving realisations is not lost on us.
Your reference to RDT is fair with the benefit of hindsight. The world of data analytics has moved on at such a rapid pace over the last 3 years aided by the fact that more and more companies saw it as an area to exploit. This investment has been extremely disappointing although recent news appears to be somewhat better. You will may also recall that RDT has had some bad press relating to its admission to the market. Clearly this is out of our control.
The way to look on Vela, though, is as a portfolio and on this I would make a few points
1. The RDT investment is insignificant to us now as a percentage of the overall portfolio.
2. All portfolios would have winners, losers and also rans. Not all investments we make are going to be successful.
3. The investments like "Portr or Blockchain" as well as others have the potential to "multibag" from here. Take a look at valuations achieved, for example, at Skyscanner, in the travel space, which was recently valued at $1.6bn. I am not saying Portr could be valued at that but it gives some sense of the upside compared to the £25m valuation attributed to Portr at the last funding round. Then take a look at the valuations accorded to BTL compared to other valuations in the Blockchain space around the world, many of whom have valuations of 5x plus that of BTL and have absolutely nothing in terms of revenues or product. I could go on.
I would emphasise that I am in no way suggesting that at this stage some of our investments should be valued at what appear to be sky high valuations. I have to be very careful, as a Director of Vela, what I say so as not to mislead or imply anything that has not been said in RNSs to date. You have to do your own research.
The thing is, why would we sell out of these investments at this stage based on the above? What would you be writing on this Board if we sold our shares in Portr because the valuation of the company has gone up 5 fold since we invested, only to see it valued significantly higher in the future?
So that is why I referred in my previous post to investors needing to have a similar investment timeframe to that of the underlying investments we have made.
I hope this addresses your point. Good to hear you are a shareholder and asking such questions is good as it provoking debate and interest in Vela.
Believe me, as a significant shareholder myself, I have exactly the same desire as you.
|A couple of meaty buys this morning, we could do with a couple more of those.
|Well said and thank you Antony, some of us do appreciate you efforts and having spoken to you on the phone some time ago I have been increasing my holding with a long term view.
I wish you well.
|0.1p? come on let's the Mr sweeped as done to the Mrs|
paul the octopus
|encarter, doubt he will answer neither of our questions, but for yours you might find answer in the word "greed" hopefully he learned that his time best spent serving shareholders instead of posting on BBan I mean "serving" not "sweeping"|

|Yes Mr Anthony, you said the stock was undervalued at 0.5p but if so then why are you issuing stock at 0.15p ???|

|I thought they are going to consolidate...|
|Taken from 9Sep rns(a) every 1,500 Existing Ordinary Shares will be consolidated into one Consolidated Ordinary Share; and(b) immediately following the Consolidation, each of the Consolidated Ordinary Shares will be sub-divided into 1,500 New Ordinary Shares.ConsolidationAt the General Meeting, it is proposed to consolidate every 1,500 Existing Ordinary Shares into one Consolidated Ordinary Share, under resolution 4 (an ordinary resolution). As at the date of this document, the Company has 721,588,020 Existing Ordinary Shares in issue. To effect the Consolidation, it will be necessary to issue a further 480 Ordinary Shares to increase this to 721,588,500 Ordinary Shares which is exactly divisible by 1,500.The Consolidation will result in the creation of 481,059 Consolidated Ordinary Shares|
|Alexious - it happened on 26 September
|Hi guys,When is consolidation happening?|
|Alphapig .... no need to apologise. Lots of noise around so easy to put everyone in the same pot
Hope you and others like toddy's news today.
|Looks like another bit of shrewd investing today and fully funded until end of 2017, well done.
|Antony, apologies, I only read today's rns where it mentioned you but not anyone else specifically. I've had some painful experience of loan notes in the past (specifically wsg where Bergen demolished the sp), and I should have done a bit more digging before posting. Again, apologies, wish you and the company well.|
I thought I would point out that you have come to some incorrect conclusions with regard to the recent issue of Loan Notes. May I suggest that you revisit the announcement.
To summarise, though, there are only 2 investors in the Loan Notes. Both Scott Fletcher and I each invested £200,000.
Scott Fletcher has recently bought close to 9% of Vela via market purchases. He is an experienced and highly successful investor within the technology arena
You can read more about him here
There is also a full explained of the rationale behind the injection in the RNS.
Over the last year or so, there has been a transformation of the share register from small investors, many of whom were punting around in the shares, to a small number of more experienced and knowledgeable investors who have a similar investment horizon to the investments we have made. We expect that the interest we are seeing from this type of investor will continue.
I hope this helps give a better understanding of recent events.
|Just an aside, if they all converted at current sp, that's around 270 million shares to churn thru, hopefully they're sticky!|
|No details of where the rest of the loan notes have gone, or how much the director has got. If it's Bergen (or similar) proceed with caution. They can normally convert the loan notes at any time they wish.|

We hope shareholders will appreciate this and thereby give a better understanding about Vela and its investments
|Surely the weakness will be when new shares hit market. Would be good to get in around .14!|
