Having hovered around the 200p level for a while, I anticipate that the share price is ready to launch once again. Would not be surprised to see 220-230p by the end of Feb 2006.

long 206 (last MM on 206)
chart sneaking over key 200p S/R level again,
though not out of wedge yet (soon, perhaps),
recent bounce demonstrates 3-year+ rising support

with good upside to retrace if it gets some volume behind it

This is a software house spawned from the European Space Agency, now diversified more broadly into aerospace/defence (helped by acquiring Anite's German space business), and heading into other sectors as well. Forward P/E of 11 ain't too steep.

THIS IS MONEY'S WEEKLY SMALL CAPS
The rise and rise of Vega Technology
Christopher Spink, head of research, Growth Company Investor
15 December 2005

TECHNOLOGY consultant Vega, recently recommended by Growth Company Investor at 186.5p, has romped home with strong half-time figures to the end of October, scoring bumper sales growth in each region and market sector.

Now firmly focused on the aerospace, defence and government markets, Vega reported a 20% jump in profits to £2m, on sales that were up 25% at £30.6m. Organic growth stripping out its Anite acquisition was a very healthy 20%, and operating margins held firm at 7%, despite Vega investing £200,000 to expand in key locations including the UK, Germany, Holland and France.

Savvy chief executive Phil Cartmell flagged up appetising growth in the aerospace market, where Vega supports satellite programmes and develops training systems for large aerospace manufacturers.

It also has a foot in as the defence consulting business, working for the UK intelligence community, contracted through the Ministry of Defence. Vega is looking to make astute acquisitions to boost the consulting business and to broaden geographically.

Cartmell says Vega kickstarted the second half with strong orders and is confident of hitting full-year forecasts. Before recent contract wins, Cityn umber crunchers were going for profits of £4.6m and earnings of 15.2p, placing the 202p shares on a forward multiple of 13.3 times. With Cartmell at the helm, Vega has star-studded appeal.

Verdict: A strong buy

VEGA Group PLC consolidates its position in the European Space market
Proposed acquisition of Anite Systems GmbH

"The consideration for the acquisition will be satisfied as to £2.8 million
through a vendor placing of 1,848,938 new ordinary shares and £4.7 million in

will be funded from a new £5 million term facility and existing bank facilities."

from 2004 ar
The basic and diluted weighted average numbers of shares in issue for 2003 and

so, i would expect only 20356821 shares ??

Tax up from 31.7% to 33.6%.

Shares in issue up from 19.2 million to 20.1 million a 9% increase.

Both factors have led to a poorer headline eps of 7% compared to headline pretax profit.

Still good results I think, but VEG needs to make progress on margins and keep number of shares in issue under control.

The reason why eps % increase lags turnover and PTP seems to be a 10% increase in shares, and a large tax increase.

Revenue growth was good but margins were down 0.1% and EPS up only 7%. They're in line for the year and fair value IMHO but I was hoping they'd get their margins up. Sold first thing

Good call fellowes...

If you consider Vega was as high as 225 in the summer there should be plenty more to come..

Today's move on VEG also breaks through technical price resistence at 194.
This makes a push towards the 220 mark far easier and I expect we will open Up first thing and then trade comfortably above £2.00. Not before time.

Still time (just) to grab some before this trades a lot higher.

Anyone who has noticed the number and value of the recent contract wins,
will discover just how undervalued VEG is - though not for much longer imo.
