07/12/2005 16:23 | Well done for adding Tole.. Looks like people are waking up to the powerful growth story at VEGA. You can't keep a good stock down.. CC | cravencottage
07/12/2005 14:25 | Be nice to break 200p - glad I added a few more last week :) Now lets see some nice results next Tuesday.... | tole
07/12/2005 14:09 | Finally a bit of movement pre results. | rochdae
01/12/2005 19:00 | There may see a post results re-rating on this occasion. We know the results will be very strong and I also think they will combined by a buoyant outlook statement as VEG have won some very large contracts recently. EPS growth drives shares prices and VEG will enjoy a substantial re-rating, it is simply far too cheap for the growth and quality of the company. The results on the 13th of December will highlight this, if the re-rating is not already under way by then. | fellowes
01/12/2005 13:56 | Suprised that this has not moved. Usually starts after the trading update and peaks with the results(about 6 to 8 weeks later). So far no movement and only 2 weeks to go. The last two times the movement was about 40%, so... this time we should go up to 270p or so. We know the update was good, so there will be no below estimates. All theory, nothing else. | johnv
30/11/2005 21:23 | VEG is just entering T10 territory for the Interim results. I would expect a very nice run up to results - and notice that the MM's are paying 190 pence for shares - 2 pence over the official bid. | fellowes
22/11/2005 09:02 | Thanks Tole, v. good news. | johnrxx99
22/11/2005 07:58 | Set for a push through 200 soon. Tech sector hotting up and results approach. | rochdae
22/11/2005 07:56 | VEGA Group PLC (VEGA), the independent Programme and System Assurance company, has been awarded contracts worth a total of Euro3.2 million, by the European Space Agency (ESA). The first, worth Euro2.2million, is to build and deliver the Core Payload Data Segment for the ADM-Aeolus satellite. ADM-Aeolus is part of the ESA's Living Planet Programme and its objective is to observe global wind profiles and provide information to improve weather forecasting. VEGA will act as prime contractor to build and deliver the Core Payload Data Segment which is part of the ground-based hardware and software systems that receive, archive and manage earth observation data from the satellite. The work will be delivered by a VEGA team based in Toulouse, France for the European Space Research Institute (ESRIN) based near Rome. The second contract, valued at over Euro1million has been won by VEGA's German subsidiary, based in Darmstadt. It is part of an existing frame contract with ESA, to support work on Europe's contribution to the International Space Station (ISS) programme. These contributions include the Automated Transfer Vehicle, an unmanned cargo vehicle that takes supplies up to the ISS and returns waste to Earth, and the Columbus Module, which is scientific laboratory attached to the ISS. Under the contract, VEGA will continue work on Assembly, Integration and Verification (AIV) and Operations Validation. VEGA has also been awarded a three year competitive framework contract, with a possible two year extension, in Flight Dynamics support for the European Space Operations Centre (ESOC), in Darmstadt. This is part of a wider framework arrangement, involving VEGA and two other consortia. This framework contract breaks new ground for VEGA, as it builds on flight dynamics experience with other clients, but is the first time the company has bid for this contract at ESOC. Phil Cartmell, CEO, commented: "We are delighted to be awarded these contracts by ESA. This demonstrates VEGA's capability to deliver our services across Europe, in this instance involving France, Germany, Italy and the UK." | tole

18/11/2005 14:04 | Gets a main tip write up in SmallCap Shares - Two page spread and highlighted as new BUY at 193p. Vega has recovered well from its one setback, which was pretty modest anyway. Its space business makes up in steadiness what it lacks in margin. Although its expansion out of space has involved a few setbacks, it is cutting the mustard in the defence and government focus which it has retained. It has recently been investing in developing a French space business from which the payback is yet to come. It has always run a sound balance sheet. It's well worth 12 times current year earnings. BUY. | tole
10/11/2005 16:30 | Fellowes I think you are being rather modest with your predictions. Vega touched 200p just after results in early 2004 and at that stage was trading at almost 30 X prospective earnings. My theory is if you apply a more modest Prospective earnings multiple of 20 then we should be heading for @ 300p sooner rather than later. ( 450p if the market decides to rate Vega as it did 2 years ago) The recent contracts are yet to be factored into broker forecasts and i'd expect these to be upgraded post results in December. In addition if one of the tip sheets/ Investors Chronicle gives VEGA a New Years tip my short term target price of 300p will be achieved in no time at all. This is all just my opinion, but in fairness there aren't many quality outfits around like Vega and for that reason I believe the re-rating has only just begun. CC | cravencottage
10/11/2005 11:59 | fellowes - agreed. | johnrxx99
10/11/2005 11:56 | Still towards the beginning of the re-rating, plenty more to come imo, we should test £2.20 by results. | fellowes
10/11/2005 08:43 | Vega share price making really nice progress - amazing what can follow a few orders and an upbeat statement. | spaceparallax
09/11/2005 20:42 | A nice 7,500 buy just at the close. Results this year are mid December (the 13th) rather than January, so the re-rating has started earlier. | fellowes
09/11/2005 16:36 | CC - m8 many thanks for the shares mag info. Nice strong finish at the daily high, more to come tomorrow. | tole
09/11/2005 16:33 | Also bought into these this morning. Upward moves seem to be rather strong on this one so hoping too for an early xmas. | rochdae
09/11/2005 16:27 | Hi guys, Sold out at 200 at the beginning of the year, hence me not being around lately. However, things were looking nicely stoked, and ridiculously cheap again at the beginning of the week, so I couldn't resist returning for another xmas present! I also sense an increased investor interest in this share. So maybe, just maybe, I will hang on for the longer term this time. I am expecting at the bare minimum a new high by xmas, for an easy 20%+. 09/11/2005 14:31 | Last weeks Shares Mag Article BUY - VEGA Investors in the defence and space software specialist could have more pleasant surprises this year. Vega assured the market this week that it is on track with its targets thanks to big new contracts, including with the UK intelligence services and European Space Agency. This implies that the expected 4.6 million Pre Tax Profit for the full year could be on the conservative side and, on a PE of just 12, the shares tipped at 164.5p on Nov 24 last year, still look an excellent opportunity. Hope this helps everyone. CC | cravencottage
09/11/2005 14:12 | No longer I'm afraid but it didn't say any more than above (thanks Tole) and of course a buy recommendation. | johnrxx99
09/11/2005 13:43 | Fellowes - no problem. Anyone got the sharesmag article from last week? Interested if there was anything extra in it worth pointing out...tia | tole
09/11/2005 13:18 | Very strong demand, looks like an institution trying to fill a large buy order. | fellowes
09/11/2005 12:29 | Tole Excellent post m8, thx for that. | fellowes |
