12/8/2011 12:58 | Currently you can buy a £10 for £9.70. I'll keep waiting but don't think you can go far wrong investing below £10 per share. | stuart14
12/8/2011 12:48 | smart move and I too got out at a small loss. can not even perform on a day like today ! | arja
27/7/2011 22:24 | I wonder what the future brings for this one. Alot of speculation as to what could be acquired by these guys, but no firm deals. When they do buy something worth afew billions, they will have to raise a large amount of debt making it difficult to predict the future value of the stock. based on this... I'm out | bergster56
21/7/2011 08:23 | good points bergster56 amnd maybe I am too cynical. i am not sure he would worry about his reputation as he will get a big salary for failure or success although there may be some incentives for success in form of options . But often directors do not need to be competent as they do well anyway . I will hang on and keep a close eye on level 2 and chart for what it is worth at this stage . good luck . | arja
20/7/2011 21:33 | Arja, logic tells me we have a man - tony hayward who's probably not used to being someone's whipping boy (obama oil spill issue), especially as he was CEO of one of the biggest oil majors in the world and part of the british super elite. He also went to the city and alot of big players have handed him 1.3 billion sterling and the thing was oversubscribed. Failure is not an option here as the guys reputation is contigent on this being a success. Its subjective - thats my view anyway | bergster56
20/7/2011 15:24 | bergster, maybe it is not priced in because their strategy is high risk as they look for just one major company and hence no diversity as with an investment trust . | arja
20/7/2011 08:06 | I see but still sovereign risk with any investments they might make and hence the reason the share price is doing nothing yet . | arja
19/7/2011 20:57 | because at the moment all your paying for is the cash pile on the balance sheet - the price of the class management with the contact book to die for isnt yet priced in | bergster56
19/7/2011 14:07 | not sure what you mean by allowinfg investors to come aboard as I thoughrt it was akin to a closed fund ? It is offputting to think they might go for a Russian company but I suppose there will always be some sovereign risk with any foreign investment ! | arja
18/7/2011 09:16 | Very interesting times to come for this one me thinks. At present vallares is still sitting on a cash pile of 1.3 billion sterling, and this continues to allow investors to come aboard. | bergster56
15/7/2011 15:43 | would agree you've made a good move here. | bergster56
15/7/2011 14:08 | seems to be limited downside in this company according to my understanding of the situation but quite good upside potential if they do a good deal . Hence , I just bought a few at 1030 ! Does anybody who has studied it more than I have disagree ? | arja
15/7/2011 08:33 | nice start | bergster56
14/7/2011 16:49 | hefty £250k buy at the end of the day here. Something is clearly up. Wider market not woken up to this new issue yet | bergster56
13/7/2011 09:49 | looks like something is brewing here | bergster56
12/7/2011 10:31 | bergster , thanks for the link . | flyfisher
12/7/2011 08:55 | looks like a foray into middle eastern/iraqi oil markets is where its at. Pretty astute given thats where all the world's oil is | bergster56
06/7/2011 22:33 | anywhere to be honest - believe they plan to focus on emerging markets which could mean higher returns | bergster56
05/7/2011 09:23 | Are they committed to doing deals overseas , or can they deal in Europe/ North sea, anyone know ? | scrapman
23/6/2011 11:54 | Exactly. They'll do well I am sure. What you are holding is in reality a cash shell that with debt leverage will turn into a FTSE100 Oilers overnight. | stuart14
22/6/2011 13:13 | I think this is an excellent way of exposing yourself to a lower risk but high reward play in oil and gas. We are essentially paying for the management's connections in the world of oil and gas, and I think we're likely to get an excellent deal | bergster56 |
