Sagem,

I think ZNI have a farm in deal with ZRL for the uranium assets. This is just from memory and I can't remember the exact details.

You could try looking at Uranex as well ASX:UNX

SAGEM, LSE:ZRL is the epic for ZAMBEZI, not ZARIBA. Do you mean Zambezi? Check your facts.

liam1om ...Some investors get nervous waiting for news and sell, just what the market makers like especially when they have marked them down 8p. The little guy always sells at the bottom price, we are no where near the real actual price this share will finally finish at. To be involved in this company with a RED HOT commodity that is in short supply is like a miracle....this chance to make money does not come our way very often and I intend to take full advantage. I am not tipping only talking about another company called ZARIBA RESOURCES which is involved in Uranium and about to list on the Australian market, it is already listed on the AIM and has been for some time. THEY ARE GOING TO OPEN 1 NEW MINE PER YEAR.HUGE POTENTIAL.EPIC ZRL.

You don't give up hifkdmer do you? What a little rascal you are! Others might come out with stronger language but I don't want to upset you. Ramping URA and deramping UMN; is there no end to your talents?

Sagem, thats exactly what I'm waiting for. Saying that, if possitive news was imminent I would of thought the price would be on the up at present.

At 2.30pm our time we will see what Canada think about this bid and if they are buying rather than selling. As this is a Canadian company they may get the news first this afternoon out time, we can only wait and see.

seagreen ..The above is exactly what I am trying to say. The market makers make a market in the shares and would not know at this stage any more info than we do, the price is what they are prepared to trade at not what a bid would fetch. The assets of URAMIN with the Uranium price being what it is and to go a lot higher is what makes the company and share price worth. My figure is still £5.00 minimum

seagreen,

Sometimes the market gets it wrong. Look at P & O, even the board agreed a price, only for an auction to develop. Look at Oasis earler this week. Look at Dobbies today, the board agreed a price with Tesco, but it didn't stop somebody else coming in, and buying the shares.

If there is an asset and somebody wants it badly, they will pay up for it. The market is normally an accurate indicator, but not always.

I think seagreen is right that a bid at +£5 is very unlikely. Take a look at the recent EMC/SXR deal. The premium was approximately 30% to the pre-announcement levels, most of which disappeared of course because the stock raced upwards on news of takeover talks. It is different if one is being acquired by another aggressive near-term producer rather than say Areva. In the former, an all share offer is more likely and you are effectively swapping shares in one near-term producer leveraged to uranium for another, at a modest premium. It would be astounding if a bid was made at the £5 level. That is not to say that if multiple parties are interested and bidding this couldn't get that high - witness Lion Ore, where Norlisk probably grossly overpaid, but they did so in the end. A 30% premium to the pre-bid level of £3.30 would be £4.29. That's what I'd expect, all-cash from Areva. But we'll see soon enough I guess. I hold GLA incidentally, rather than UMN direct and would be happy with a prompt cash takeover.

To be honest I have a feeling the the market has got absolutely no idea what is happening. The companies involved must be keeping things very quiet.

I really think it would be a shame having all colectively ridden this so well if one became deluded towards the end...if there is to be a quick deal it will be for less than £4 as the market is telling us, if the deal falls away then the price will come back to £3.20 I suspect not £2.50 and then indeed it might go forth and become £5 or £6 in time, but right now the market is saying more £3.50 than £4 and probably some where in the middle if someone wants to buy UMN at this stage of its life............so do take care Sagem as talk of a bid at £5 now I think is utter codswallop.

Of course I would be delighted to be proven wrong...but currently there also seems no sugestion of a counter bid either.

hifkdmer,

I disagree. The case for UMN as a stand alone growth company is compelling and I doubt that we would retrace beyond 330p. There are likely to be other bidders as well.

Papillon,

I hope you're right. I was trying to read between the lines of the intra-day spike up in trading to well over £4 and then the drop. It doesn't look to me as though anything is imminent and the company has failed to update us within the time stated. My fingers are crossed after topping up!
