this makes interesting reading from 2007 "Urals Energy, an independent exploration and production company with operations in Russia, on Tuesday announced an operational update.
William R Thomas, Chief Executive of Urals Energy, commented:

"2007 will be an important year for Urals Energy and the progress we continue to make across all areas of the business is creating a solid platform for growth.

"We have made significant progress at Dulisma, which is a key asset. Financing for the project has been secured, a ten-year production tax holiday has been officially confirmed by the tax authorities, and our field development plan has been approved by the Russian Government. All this is further indication of the progress we are making."

Production

Oil production has increased from a maximum productive rate of 10,100 BOPD in late September 2006 to 11,600 BOPD today. A combination of weather related delays in drilling, which are not unusual for this time of year, and a delay in launching our fracture stimulation program resulted in year-end production being slightly lower than initially anticipated. We are confident of achieving 15,000 BOPD by the third quarter and we continue to target group production of 19,000 BOPD by year end 2007.

Overall we completed a total of nine producing wells in the second half of 2006, lower than expected due to both timing delays and poor equipment. We have subsequently invested in new equipment, which is already producing positive results.

At Petrosakh, the frac fleet and associated equipment has now been delivered to the field site and is being readied to begin fracturing the first four wells of a planned eight well program. We should know the results of this initial four well program by the end of the first quarter. Once we fracture stimulate the remaining suitable wells at Petrosakh, we will move the equipment to Komi and begin fracture stimulating our fields at CNPSEI, Dinyu and Nizhne Omrinskaya Neft, of which all have excellent stimulation potential.

We had excellent results at the Potapovskoye field in Urdmurtia where we drilled 3 new producing wells with all producing above plan.

Exploration

We drilled one exploration well at the Dinyu field in the Komi Republic in the third quarter of 2006. This well, DN-48, was drilled to test an extension of the Dinyu field to the Southeast. The well encountered a previously unidentified reef structure with over 60 meters of permeable limestone reservoir. After extensive testing, the well produced only small quantities of live oil perhaps indicating the oil has migrated up-structure.

As a result, we have recently completed the acquisition of approximately 300 kilometers of new 2D seismic over the Dinyu field area, and we will be looking to identify several new drilling locations with this new data. The potential includes the new reef trend we encountered while drilling DN-48, and a newly identified eastern lobe that has excellent potential.

We have signed contracts, purchased equipment and materials, and begun site preparation for the Nadezhdinsky No. 1 exploration well in Timan Pechora. Located approximately 60 kilometers southwest of the port of Varendey on the northern coastline of Russia, this prospect is our highest rated exploration target of the five licenses we hold there. With a target potential of 60 million barrels recoverable, the well is expected to spud in April 2007 and has an AFE dry hole cost of approximately $8 million for a target depth of 3,200 meters.

At Petrosakh, we continue to re-process and re-interpret our 3D seismic data base that covers the offshore license area, Pogranichny. We expect to complete this new analysis in the second quarter and will then be in position to refine our exploration drilling plans for this high-potential area.

At Arcticneft we are now re-entering well 29 to begin a deep sidetrack to explore the Permian horizon. If successful, this well test would have a significant impact on our development plans at Arcticneft.

'7p self-imposed ceiling'

They were just complying with rules

General disclosure of price sensitive information
11. An AIM company must issue notification without delay of any new developments which are not public knowledge which, if made public, would be likely to lead to a significant movement in the price of its AIM securities. By way of example, this may include matters concerning a change in:
— its financial condition;
— its sphere of activity;
— the performance of its business; or
— its expectation of its performance.

The price rose from 1.75 to 7p from Dec to Feb without any reason as above which they were obliged to confirm. No more, no less

So it must just be all those pi's piling in for close on 2 months on no real news or rumoured news.

............... or buying pressure from someone accumulating and pi's riding the wave.

Wanna brew, basem1 in his post above said he accumulated 1m shares last week and shifted 400k for a profit. I bought at 5.71p and hesitated at 7p sadly, but there were plenty of other peeps new on here who would've been doing the same thing.

A million or two is no great volume once the buys and sells are totalled. What we need, as I say, is 5m mostly buys and then, maybe, you have more than just PIs. In one day, and largely because the shares are not very liquid.

Equally though, as Basem said, the market does some strange things and a sudden rise in oil prices into the 60s and a coincidental reserves update or, miracle of miracles, our BoD actually following up on a previous RNS promise within six months, like the capital reduction and divvy plans, well, back above that 7p self-imposed ceiling of theirs.

It would be nice to have the luxury of 3.3p average though like Basem, eh?!

As I said yesterday, I think the average over those 40 days could be nearer the 800k now that's 32m shares traded.

If we very conservatively say just 500k of shares were traded each day for those 40 trading days we are looking at 20m. Now we have to assume there were more buys than sells otherwise we would not have seen the price hike. Now that is one hell of a lot of pi transactions.

Since mid Dec daily volumes have hovered around 800k. Some days a little less other days a more and over 1m. That's for about 40 trading days. Now that's is a lot of pi activity. Not trying to ramp but I just don't buy pl's sticking around in such numbers to justify such daily volumes over about 40 days

The market is irrational though, who says we can't be at 7p by Friday night ? Very rarely does the market play out as you'd expect. I've had 15 years of surprises, Infact nothing really ever surprises me nowadays. As regards the volume I'm small fry and I'd accumulated almost 1m shares last week, I did however sell 400k on last weeks rise to leave my average at 3.3p. Other people I told hold 250,000 too.

Exactly chav. I don't doubt wannabrew wants this up as much as most of us here, but your post 19685 does indeed put the small amounts required into perspective to being only PI buys and sells.

Blimey, lots of us on here were claiming buys earlier this month, and what are we if not PIs. I snarled £10k worth alone, and many others too no doubt. 150,000 shares is nothing really.

If the amounts were 5m I'd consider bigger interests were playing into UEN. But otherwise, wishful thinking aside, there is no evidence other than it carried on longer than usual which, was easy to expect as virtually any oiler was going to rise as a result of the OPEC and Russian cuts.

It really is that simple. And our BoD said as much and stymied any further 'expectations' as it doesn't suit their agenda to capital reduce and bring this back into the cold light of day at a time of their choosing - slowly, as ever - to attract bigger and better fish to support the expansion plans.

Those, and the reserves, I don't doubt. But we are and we're getting too excited IMHO.

If you aren't buying on margin no worries to wait until the BoD is ready.

Conservative and careful gregpeck.

The rise here has been out of control and will be tempered now IMHO until they bring to market their proposals.

Probably not until the Autumn shipment, but hopefully much sooner as by then the share price will be back in the 2-3p range. The MMs will take it down if no volume, they always do.

New CEO is talking about being conservative as well and the current plan looks that way to me, small incremental steps. Liking those production numbers, will try and snaffle a few more today.Gp
