Brilliantly done Chav.

So can you make the comparison with SOLG and UEN that would support a similar price move here? Or are the market caps and general assets/prospects of ROI nowhere close to being comparable?

I know nothing of SOLG, other than having heard similar historical horrors as we have endured at UEN. But if there is any similarities it would be nice to dream...

Basem, maybe they are happy with the 100% they've already turned in a month?!

But yep, I agree, the prospects here would support hanging on to ones shares until spring anyway.

You need to look at how this company has changed since Adler took control..they have done a great job in buying cheap assets and have access to capital...this is going places

Lets hope it is a right move as geological and seismic surveys are in progress at south Dagi with a view to drill later this year.

In general though I accept djmoggy's overall view that we will require a success to truly generate more interest in this share.

If that is dependent on successful new drills or expansion of existing asset fields I don't care, but there is little doubt we need investment interest to be piqued a little somehow.

Chav - been here a long, long time as well - I just haven't bothered posting in the last few years - but the upturn in shareprice has peaked my interest....

Promises were made to not use the in-house drilling team at Petrosakh but sadly not followed up on.

I vaguely remember a few years ago that additional seismic had been carried out - the trouble is there was limited success on drilling of the target areas (#54 a success, #109 a total failure) - I'm not aware of any further seismic carried out since.

The trouble with the Okruzhnoye Field at Petrosakh is it's complex geology making successful drilling and maintaining production levels a challenge even for more competent contracted drillers let-alone the in-house team - so it is a risk to spend large sums bringing an outside team in given that the result could be the same!

Personality I think the managements decision last November to cease further drilling on the Okruzhnoye Field at Petrosakh until further notice and concentrate on South Dagi field is the right way to go. The high rates of well production decline at Okruzhnoye and need for constant workovers means even sustained success would not significantly improve production there. Better to concentrate the limited capital to drill to firm up reserves and production elsewhere.

If the company begin to deliver on their plans from June 2016 for South Dagi copied below then this will definately be seen as a step in the right direction

The Company's plan is to design and seek approval for a Development Plan for the South Dagi license with the official authorities, which is expected to involve a drilling program with the objective of producing up to 2,000 bbls/day over the next 5 years. The oil from South Dagi will be transported by road tanker to the Company's refinery at Petrosakh, a distance of 400 kms, increasing the utilisation rate of the refinery, which will not need additional investment to process both the heavy and light oils produced at South Dagi.

Reminder, that expensive mapping out found sweet spots on our existing area, we have to give those spots a try with competent drillers or all that time and money is a waist. I accept the new area has to be tried and proven but I think to forget about these identified sweet spot would be wrong especially if the gear is still there.

djmoggy, reminders don't hurt at all and I have been here a long time and don't recall when but I remember it said that they were going to stop using in house teams and dated equipment and bring in the pro's with modern gear to do the job, in fact I seem to think it said they had modern drill gear now included in a purchase made.
I for one agree with much of what you have said and find it hard to fault it if looking at it with a clear mind and in contex of what your saying.
In short get competent drill team not cheap and cheerful which has turned out very expensive and give the market confidence they are going to continue to deliver.
That's what I read into what you are saying in short.

djmoggy. To my recollection the 10 or so years we have been here Urals have only had one new well Petrosakh Oct 15 ,..350 bbpd.
I hope you or someone can prove me wrong and make the history sound better .

It is the future that I am getting optimistic about. So lets hope the geological results, work overs and new drill for 2017 come good and the marketing agents can do their jobs .

Tone / MartynDisagree. Marketing isn't the issue holding back the share and whilst marketing may give the shareprice a short term hike it is not what is required to move forward. The problem in the near past is that UEN has had is an inability to show long term viability. Over the last few years they have been treading water barely been able to maintain production levels on two fairly mature assets. There has been no long term attraction for an investor in the constant struggle to maintain production from the existing wells (through constant work overs etc). A number of drilling failures, legacy issues and market conditions (oil price) have further exasperated matters and driven the shareprice to the extreme low levels we have seen.Management started to address this by the purchasing of further assets (Komi) and extension of the acreage at existing locations whilst the oil price was depressed (indeed looks a shrewd move now). Now that the oil price is recovering the time to firm up these assets has come. A successful drilling outcome later this year will have a transformational effect on the shareprice. Not because of any small increased daily production but because it will show the management have finally put legacy issues behind them and shown that there is a beginnings of a future that does not depend on squeezing the remaining financially accessible reserves from current producing fields at Petrosakh (and to a lesser extent Arcticneft). Obviously there will still be a great deal of work to do but this will be the trigger for the shareprice to vastly increase from current depressed levels.

Keep the news coming Calmtrader .

Our new RK oil. is reopening a well in QI and a new well planned for Q2/3
Our new Artic oil on Articneft has planned 3 to 4 work overs this year along with 2 shipments of oil this year,
All means more production planed with higher $ sale price .A good basis for any growing company .
