Yep great update from TATE, only weakness was in the business they have sold 50% of, now focused on growth areas.

i wouldnt read much into the bounce. the way the company is viewed over the last couple of years, its now seen as a defensive, so it bounces a bit if the mkt overall has a bad day. if the americans recover the situation in the afternoon i expect unilever shares will soften. tbh they should look at what tate have done/are doing. thats the way forward. shrink to grow.

There is much to much complacency amongst the management and sales force - don’t get me started on Flora !!

That Flora! She up to her old tricks?

I am here in Punta Cana having a nice cup of tea - why is it Twinnings ( ABS owned ) and not Lipton's Lipton's is a world class brand they should have milked ( no pun intended )for all it's worth ( which they haven't) they've owned since the 1930s ffs Not flogged off the whole division !!There is much to much complacency amongst the management and sales force - don't get me started on Flora !!

they said prices will go up but volumes will suffer. that says that the brands cant cope with the hikes (but p&g similar brands managed to do the job). this is due to investing in the wrong areas of those brands. they shot and missed. time for someone else else they change direction of where they are aiming.

EPS are not a good yardstick imo, owners earnings is the acid test, the share price performance over 3yrs compared to it's peers doesn't lie.Jope needs to step aside imo.

@Monty share buy backs now are a better use of cash than over priced acquisitions.

* 1% buy back contribution to EPS.

Debt observation valid, but net off the tea disposal proceeds to come.
New buy back is over 2 years.

When there is comment about underperformance it is relative to the wider
sector.

They have just announced record EPS (excluding divestments), dividends and operating profits, free cash flow about £1 bn lower than last year's high.

Jopes credibility severely dented over the GSK acquisition fiasco Will be out eventually but not yet And another thing - Still didn't agree with the rational behind flogging the Flora / Spreads business - great to have that in a downturn!!PE were queuing up to buy that

They’ve been saying that for years blue. Why do you buy a Merc?
Divi increased, is all I’m concerned with. Have held decades.
You never have to wait too long for a new shr price high
Will be £60 by 2025, in the meantime divi will go up.
