03/4/2009 17:44 | c2i FWIW I think now is a good time to buy UMC (as i did earlier today) IMHO it looks like (guessing from the share price movement) that the banking covenants havn't been breached..if I'm right this could hit 200p. | sleveen
03/4/2009 10:58 | Yes that's how i interpreted it. | sleveen
03/4/2009 10:52 | sleveen and other holders, I am lurking and wonder whether any of you could clarify this question for me. Are the share purchases by Hermes and BT Pensions the same thing? As the delarations always appear on the same day and are for the same amount. Are the declarations just duplications as Hermes is a trustee for BT Pensions? Thanks in advance c2i | contrarian2investor
03/4/2009 10:19 | I bought at 126p this morning...so I hope we're at or very near the bottom:-) | sleveen
03/4/2009 09:34 | Are we there yet? The bottom ! | s34icknote
19/3/2009 10:41 | why a £1 nano,why not 50p or £2? | ozz2
18/3/2009 21:19 | call it at 100p | liyangnano
17/3/2009 16:43 | Looks like some one selling. Be them daft insurance companies! | s34icknote
16/3/2009 21:56 | ooh a bounce! | s34icknote
14/3/2009 07:19 | I sold at 560p about a year ago on concerns about an aerospace slowdown (correct) but prematurly bought back at 256p. I think UMC are oversold (but still might go lower). There was an article in last week's IC with a sell recommendation on the basis that the IMS in Feb was a warning that UMC may breach its banking covenants. The IMS states that its banking coveneants are due to be tested at the year end and management expects to stay within them. IMHO these will be a compelling buy "soon" but as ever DYOR | sleveen
13/3/2009 18:22 | I,m in at 166 and 141.Does n,t look so clever. People were trading at a fiver ot so long ago! Think the market is crzy with prices as fear overides . Will have to wait to find out i guess! Good luck all | s34icknote
13/3/2009 18:03 | Just keeps falling; like you say on small trades. It might be just as well to wait and try to find the bottom. It makes you wonder what information is out there;if any, to make it keep falling? I suppose there could be a large holder having to dispose. But the way the trades are it doesn't look that way. | ozz2
13/3/2009 11:56 | small trades ! | s34icknote
12/3/2009 14:17 | topped up today. | s34icknote
10/3/2009 18:40 | It is indeed the strangest of shares to make head or tale of. With 47mil shares in issue who would expect reactions like this from relatively small sales. By the looks of the trades it would seem that it is mainly to do with employees.Thats purely a guess of course. I know someone who works for them; on the supply side--and he says nothing untoward is out there on the grapevine. I bought more the other day at 175p to bring down my average. The whole problem probably has a lot to do with market sentiment, or what? There was a broker buy flagged a couple of weeks ago, and all reports from the company are good. The one remark to the neg' was about forward trading could get more difficult. Fingers crossed and hope the buying starts soon, it doesn't take many buys to shift it upwards. Good luck anyway | ozz2
01/3/2009 18:54 | looks like the bottom to me. | s34icknote
16/2/2009 08:58 | IMS is relatively good given current economic outlook. I agree that the current share price is reflecting current economic problems. I'm surprised the share price has dropped 14p given the IMS. | sleveen
15/2/2009 19:18 | well rr are saying people are delaying cancelling planr orders. any idea what the percentage of turnover relates to new planes? THe price is down 2/3 rds PE of 5. To me any down side is priced in . Any views? | s34icknote
07/1/2009 17:14 | Bought more a few days ago at 252. Then Altium gave it as a SELL, that was the very next day. I think it should be okay, as long as the Italian plastics company they have just bought;-circa £11mil is still going to perform for us. Integration of the two should be good for us,as long as no one gives up on the idea of wind power. Seems like the price is moving upwards: hope I'm not tempting fate, having said that. Altium reduced its price from £3.75 hold to sell with a target of £2.25. Meggit is moving along very well these last few weeks, I don't hold, I was tempted but missed a couple of big-ish rises and decided to give it a miss. Much to my regret. | ozz2
07/1/2009 13:42 | Bought back @ 256p recently, MGGT (and also hold) also recovering well. | sleveen
06/11/2008 11:27 | I think the same sleveen--but with markets this dis-jointed--what is a fair price? even when it seems way oversold. | ozz2
05/11/2008 22:04 | Not talking to yourself I have this in my favourites and look in following new posts. I sold at 563p some weeks back, but in common with many aerospace stocks AI. MGGT, UMC have been way oversold IMHO. GL | sleveen
05/11/2008 17:42 | Can't be bad, bought a few but the usual saying "wish I had bought more" I realise I am talking to myself, it's such a shame this share is followed by so few on any board. · Revenue increased by 32.4 per cent to £197.2 million (2007: £148.9 million) · Adjusted operating profit increased by 49.5 per cent to £15.7 million (2007: £10.5 million) · Adjusted profit before tax increased by 60.5 per cent to £13.0 million (2007: £8.1 million) · Adjusted earnings per share up 25.7 per cent to 18.1 pence (2007: 14.4 pence) · Interim dividend of 6.5 pence per share, up 8.3 per cent (2007: 6.0 pence ozz | ozz2
03/11/2008 14:08 | Not much doing on this board; seems like a lift in the price is due to very few trades today. Maybe one stock the day traders don't like. Update coming tomorrow on the interim results, I think they are expected to be on track but it's wait and see time. I just hope the divi is maintained, it has a good record for it. If it is delivered it will be one of the few companies that have this last few months. | ozz2 |
