tomboy, as HUGEPANTS pointed out nsn own 83.5% of these, nsn have cash nearly twice their mkt cap!! and other assets including unv on asx. They, surely, must be the better vehicle to gain from any rerating in these.

Surely the safest way into this hound is via Natasa Mining(NSN)?
NSN hold 83% of UEP and trade at a significant discount to cash. A recent RNS stated they had US$50M in funds to invest. Current NSN market cap is £21M

The Directors of UMC wish to advise that the Company has entered a twelve month option to acquire the entire issued share capital of a Papua New Guinea ("PNG") incorporated company which, if exercised, would result in the issue of 240 million new ordinary shares in UMC and would therefore constitute a substantial transaction by the Company under the AIM Rules. The PNG company presently has a number Petroleum Prospecting Licences in PNG and is in the process of applying for additional licences in that country. No consideration was paid by UMC for the option.

As UMC Energy don't appear to have any income so far, Natasa Mining would appear to have paid the rent fees on this uranium acreage for the past 5 years on their behalf. In total, the rental seems to amount to around $1.2 million so far. I doubt the board of Natasa have done this out of the goodness of their hearts. They must have some reason, other than to gain a bigger percentage of UEP, to continue to do so.

There won't be a takeover unless Natasa Mining say so. They have 83.5% of the shares here and have had for quite awhile now.
