|sharw: Earnings up 47% - OK, it was meant to be good in a World Cup year, but running earnings are now 14.6p compared with consensus forecasts of 13.5p for this year, so unless we are expecting H2 to be worse than last this looks good - let's see what the market makes of that after the recent miserable drift in share price.|
|halogen: Upbeat yes very upbeat, sadly share price has took a right bashing of late !!

|halogen: Well what a day !
Wembley Stadium,JP Morgan & the placing,Partnership with the national football centre,Extended kit contract . All good news & less than 6 months to the world cup finals.

|melody9999: Quite remarkable how one deal can affect the share price. Have you seen the list of sponsorships that Umbro has? Just paste this link into your browser.
Has anyone thought that an extra £2.1M on the bottom line could be quite handy too. If umbro had paid £5M+ to maintain deal, we would all think great, but would it be the right business decision?
Far more important the deal with Footlocker which gives Umbro 1000 extra sales outlets in the USA.
This is not a loss that will fundamentally affect the UMB business - just a commercial decision they have taken.|
