Ditto but been back in for a while now. They say "markets are driven by fear and greed".

I would like to know how much of the NAV rise is down to buy backs or the underlying getting stronger.

$5.50 NAV now you still in sky? I admit sold at $3 was concerened about the speed of the rise and currency risk. Wondering if the fund plans to publish its newsletter anytime soon?

It's all public info so I imagine its ok

PEQ giving some cash back in January and the share price has been at a 30% discount.

DCL and AJG have been added recently, plenty more if you look in the index at the top choose your arb and have a nose.

Yes read that well done on your purchase. I assume you are aware of the funds newsletters, Septembers here for example

Its good to see the price perking up, hopefully we can achieve a better trading range for next year, i.e. above $3.50. Infact I would be quite happy for the fund to be wound up, maybe next year could be the ideal time to do it?

A third of it is listed stuff and things like Ferrexpo and JKX Oil & Gas is so liquid it could be sold any time of the day or night. The other 2/3s there must be some right catches in there like Foodmasters etc and private equity is indeed now starting to trickle back i.e.

If the fund can close at this level tonight, thats a fairly significant milestone as far as im concerned since it could be its highest closing price of the year and infact in nearly 2 years come to think of it.

Looks like others had the same idea as me yesterday as more insider buying then:

Mr Nigel Pilkington, a Director of the Company, purchased 10,000 Ordinary US$0.01 shares at a price of US$2.40 each on 19 October 2010.

and

Mr Bertrand Ivan Lipworth, a Director of the Company, purchased 10,000 ordinary US$0.01 shares at a price of US$2.40 each on 19 October 2010.

This is the closest I have ever seen the spread since I started this thread. That could be an indication that the stock has become a little more liquid and the market maker is no longer sitting on a huge oversupply of them.

Got them with a 2.35 limit. Not sure of price action, theres only 1 market maker who seems to do as they please, a very dark and black trading pool to say the least.
