12/4/2012 13:32 | Trading statement mentions "growing revenue" but its "growing profits" that matter... revenue is vanity, profits are sanity ! | spacecake
12/4/2012 07:56 | While the figures are positive I think the market may look more at the wording of the statement which is "cautious" going forward. | tuftymatt
03/4/2012 14:33 | I have not looked to check but there may be something after Easter. Let's see if Guy is earning his £450k or not!! | tuftymatt
03/4/2012 09:58 | Trading update due ! | spacecake
12/1/2012 12:05 | Today's statement highlights the peak positives but skirts round the major issues going forward in my opinion. | tuftymatt
10/1/2012 14:09 | Very interesting that the joy seen in the share price in recent weeks doesn't match that of some staff in terms of future outlook. | tuftymatt
23/11/2011 09:23 | The ebay and royal mail lable printing web service has been not working since a technology mess up at the weekend... they could always try www.ipostparcels.com ! PayPal report problems with Royal Mail label printing by Dan Wilson According to PayPal's official Twitter feed, there are currently problems related to printing Royal Mail postage labels on PayPal. PayPal said on Twitter this afternoon: "We are actively working with Royal Mail to have this issue resolved. Any new updates will follow." At 5pm today (Monday 21st November), PayPal said on Twitter: "Sorry no update as of yet on the Royal Mail printing label issue. My apologies for any inconvenience. We are working on it." We're not sure exactly what the issues are, or if they are universal and affecting all users, but this is obviously not great news. A glitch on a Monday is always a bane but in November, peak selling time, this is going to be very inconveneient for sellers who use it. You can keep an eye on Twitter for the latest update. -------------------- Wed 23/11 ... still not working. | spacecake
17/11/2011 17:08 | Investors Chronicle view on interim results... IC View True, UK Mail boasts a healthy cash pile and an attractive dividend yield. But with such a tough outlook ahead, trading isn't going to get any easier - so, even though a forward PE ratio of 10 isn't especially pricey, there are few obvious catalysts for a rerating. Fairly priced. Last IC view: Fairly priced, 272p, 18 May 2011. | spacecake
17/11/2011 07:05 | ipostparcels.com is UKmails answer to www.parcelmonkey.com The trouble is for a courier to compete directly they have to lower prices which would drive down both turnover and profit. They are unable to market like PM as they lack vision due to being a courier and not entrepreneurs. While they may have lots of cash at the moment they lack that cutting edge which is needed. Parcel Pete won't save the day here but if they can do £180 - £200m a year in parcels that's not bad in these difficult times. | tuftymatt
16/11/2011 11:07 | I have checked out www.ipostparcels.com and compared the price of a 5kg small parcel to go between to UK addresses and found the service to be £2 more expensive than parcel force. The link to ebay looks promising however how will UKM drive customers to their site, how will they market this ? No sign of ipostparcels on google search for "uk parcel service". No links on ebay postage center ! | spacecake
16/11/2011 08:58 | A bit optimistic to hope for a divi ingrease after the profit warning and potential 9% yield. .If they maintain the final div it may well be uncovered by earnings so could be vulnerable to a cut. It looks like earnings for the full year , even with Xmas peak , will not be much above the 18P full year divi, if at all. As a customer we get good service and good prices but we are not easy and keep them on their toes. (Biggest user at Depot helps?) GAN - watcher and customer | ganthorpe
14/11/2011 22:30 | Interim results on Wednesday, it would be nice to see a divi increase. | spacecake
18/10/2011 16:12 | I have to admit that this jump is surprising IMHO but good luck to anyone who got in at the recent low point or long term holders who have seen their holdings rise. | tuftymatt
07/10/2011 13:53 | Will they increase the dividend in November ? | spacecake
07/10/2011 10:13 | Highly unlikely I think. Around 180 may be a good entry point for some quick money if Christmas sales perform well but as we move into 2012 following the peak things will get ugly in my opinion. | tuftymatt
07/10/2011 08:48 | The price was a lot higher at the time matt and just happened to take notice of some comments on this thread. In terms of an investment at the current share price I just could not say, always the outside possibility of a bid, possibly. | essentialinvestor
07/10/2011 07:17 | EssentialInvestor, I think the saying is "Look but don't touch." | tuftymatt
06/10/2011 18:46 | I just would like to thank those posters who highlighted some reasons to be cautious here, this was on my watch list at one stage. | essentialinvestor
06/10/2011 18:03 | Yes, profit warning and like buses they tend to come in three's. Why on earth are they going on about one less working day... as if it was only UKM that enjoyed it. Trying to hide behind it won't do. I suspect there's bigger issues at play than moaning about the Royal Wedding ! They should start with "The Seven Wastes" I'm sure they must be riddled with them. | spacecake
06/10/2011 10:48 | Yes and the market doesn't like it. | tuftymatt
04/10/2011 08:43 | Preclose trading statement due early October. | spacecake
23/9/2011 14:47 | App of the week ! Share price getting crushed - but why ? | spacecake
19/9/2011 08:29 | I wonder how volume is with UKmail at the moment? Based on that rubbish looking website they launched back in the summer it can't have gone up in my opinion. | tuftymatt |
