UDG Healthcare plc ("the Group"), a leading international provider of healthcare services issues the following trading update covering the period from 1 October to 31 December 2014. The company will hold its Annual General Meeting in Dublin at 12.00pm today.

The Group has made a strong start to the year with trading for the quarter to 31 December 2014 well ahead of the prior year.

THE cost of some of the most commonly-prescribed medicines has been slashed by 40% from today.

Patients could make significant savings as a result of prices being cut on almost 300 well-known branded medicines, according to the Irish Pharmaceutical Healthcare Association (IPHA).

It claims the industry has cut prices in order to reduce the state's medical bill by €94 million over the next 12 months.
