richjp, tightly held and low float.
The market update is critical at end of July. It may be very positive.

This might just be a wrinkle if Parker has gone to a much large company and no shame in going for a promotion. With the limited information available it doesn't look good though.

Or he has been whispering in their ears for a while on the spend but tasked with cash raising got on with it and then leaves them to it.

Customer payment terms - in large automotive the OEMs call the shots. They can be brutes to deal with and hard to dictate anything to and suppliers have to adjust their working practices to fit in or don't do the business.

Well this announcement does not appear to have affected the share price even on a day when the main market is getting hammered, so that is encouraging for me.

I suspect CFO wanted to reduce customer payment terms to bring working capital down from its present elevated levels (20-25% sales), but rest of board didn't agree.

Not a good sign IMO

What message is the FD actually sending out?

This high growth, high profit potential opportunity is trumped by something else. Not worth investing his time and money in. Time to ship out.

Doesn't look good, a shame he feels the need to exit to greener pastures.

The upper management should all be facing the same way.

Now we know why the FD didn't take part.
He had an eye on the exit.

This needs a positive trading update late July as losing the FD now looks very poor and could be taken as a sign of problems under the bonnet.

Cash burn high. How long before balance sheet start to deteriorate again?

Could be the FD just doesn't have business confidence in the upper management and doesn't want to be associated any longer having helped get the £10M raised and revolving credit in place. The rest is down to operational management to win the sales (they admit they have problems there) and turn a profit - not done so far.

Investment week, June 15th........

'Henderson's Hughes said managers often have to bide their time on AIM in order for companies to "grow up".

"If you have the capability to wait for them to grow and reach a place of maturity, there are genuine returns to be made. Other times, you have to cut your losses and move out quickly if a stock loses its focus."

He cites the example of Ubisense, which provides technology used by car manufacturers including BMW and VW. The stock's share price and market capitalisation has remained unchanged for over 12 months following "misplaced optimism" about the company's growth prospects.

However, Hughes said he can see customer traction within the business model that will make holding the stock worthwhile in the long run.'

Daifuku are a major vendor to Magna and the Ubi tie-up is beginning to make a difference.

This is useful as if you can speed up carts you can use fewer and/or increase throughput but safety near humans is an issue.

There are a hell of a lot of stationary robots but the real breakthrough is in fast transit robotic carriers in the human factory environment. 5MPH now and targeting 7MPH where they were previously 2-3MPH. Sounds slow but near as matters double speed from 2.5MPH.

This is very much under the radar to PI's but is a reason to invest. All part of the robotics revolution.

Fast Autiomated Guided Vehicles, SMARTCARTS.

Daifuku are into baggage handling and that is another area that could be influenced.

I am in. I don't pretend to know a thing about the business, I am just blindly trusting Kestrel. This is the sixth time I have followed Kestrel. Three holdings sold at a nice little profit, comfortably ahead on two more, with one being slightly down but I hope going in the right direction.

Using Hargreaves Lansdowne the spread quoted was 110 - 115, but I thought what the hell and went ahead anyway and was pleasantly surprised that the deal was struck at 113.5.

Another thing - if I was a major auto manufacturer using UBI I might also want my suppliers to use it to my factory door. The eco-system. So BMW might help encourage Magna and others to adopt. They become part of the sales leverage to avoid mix-ups on the production line and make sure cars can be customised reliably. Fewer cars will be shipped in future but a higher mix of customisations to tailor to niche targets.

Try finding decent UK opportunities in robotics - very few. UBI is one.

What I like is you questioning my credibility and not even apologising for calling me a liar over my trades and there's you deramping it none stop saying it's going to 70p and now at 115p ish it's going to motor :-))

if they confirm multiple gm and/or magna site contracts this will motor. They might just achieve the below. Could account for Kestrel and the need to have working capital line available.

Paul Taylor is NED of UBI and KBC. Deputy Chairman of KBC.
This is a link into Kestrel via Oliver Scott who is another NED at KBC.
Might also mean Paul Taylor was not willing to partake in the funding round.

I suspect some s/w tie up using KBC in UBI enterprise s/w apps and/or some UBI in KBC refinery work, s/w.

The Kestrel stake changes the picture and I take it as helping de-risk the situation as they have extensive experience and a way of looking inside the workings of the company.

Wonder if UBI are looking into the refinery market and possible interface to KBC enterprise s/w for that market?

Makes sense and could be why they have Kestrel interested as KBC management have an interest in Kestrel.

Further looking into this, I now doubt it will breach 90p (but I have been wrong before) and is more likely to double.

The float is tight, share registry improving, hints on Magna site, GM etc, credit in place for roll-out etc.

Sales forecast, they have rcognised, is their weakness.

There was a target of £100M sales.
So, if interested and not already here, waiting for a pull-back may be fruitless.

I may be wrong of course.

Kestrel involvement is a positive for me. They are no mugs, know their stuff.

There is a picture emerging of enterprise wide s/w to improve process efficiency and UBI look key to that in manufacturing up there with Siemens, GE, Honeywell, Rockwell.

What they desperately need is news of a contract win with associated good $.

Kestrel are a bunch that understand s/w at the infrastructure/enterprise level. They hold a decent % of KBC Tech in oil refining optimisation arena. Wonder if they might tie in with UBI in the refinery side. Margins are tight there so anything that drives efficiency is in demand.

I held KBC Tech until recently.

Now where are the others?

Need to see where about the other 8M+ have found a home.

Let's hope for some new names with clout as they would have done their DD rather than being exisitng holders.
