"This successful redetermination and the new RBL accordion commitments underline the support for Tullow from our relationship banks and the quality of our assets and their ability to generate significant liquidity. Over the past three months, Tullow has started production from TEN and confirmed insurance cover for the Jubilee FPSO turret repair and business interruption. With capital expenditure now substantially reduced, we are generating free cash flow and starting to deleverage our balance sheet. This provides us with a solid platform to refinance our RBL and Corporate Facility during 2017, enhance our capital structure and enable future growth."

Interesting comments from Tullow. Also, I see the usual pre-OPEC meeting jockeying-
for-position bs going on. Even if things stay the same and even if the price of oil was to drop to $45 in the short-term, Tullow is very nicely positioned for the next 18 months at least. As the free cash flow comes in the debt will reduce. Only a fool could not see that regardless of OPEC's November meeting and Tullow's soon to be reducing debt, Tullow is in an extremely strong position.

Brent sank below $50 s barrel,as talks on OPEC members cutting production appear to be failing to reach agreement. Russia is now rumoured to have stated, it will freeze production, not cut it, whilst the numbers exempted from cuts are growing. The other concern is, will non cartel members take advantage of any net OPEC cuts and boost their own production levels.

Great platform now for share price growth over the next 12 months. Especially if oil price continues upward momentum as some expect. 2017 could be a good year for TLW

I did read somewhere that Odey was very long on Gold - perhaps this is where he's hoping to make up losses here.

Interesting article... Mr Odey reckoned he could/will make good his losses in a very short time.

It didn't mention his big short bet on INTU either...

Anyone see the ST business article on Mr Odey? Mentioned his shorts...Not on TLW though.

Anyway shorts showing 13.9%...Odey increased on 11th. A couple of other did too last week...but a couple reduced too. Overall down a bit.

A recent interesting article by Paul Hodges. Very much worth a read. The 'post fact' economy, where details of supply/demand no longer seem to matter.http//www.oilvoice.com/n/Oil

Just to wet your appetite-
Once upon a time, oil markets were based on facts. Producers and consumers focused on trying to understand what "would" happen, whilst the speculators placed bets what "could" happen. "Here are first of all, the facts from the latest IEA report.

.OPEC production hit a record high in September, of 33.64m bbl/day. Iraq produced more oil than ever, while Libya reopened its oil ports.
