Probably over reaction or a tree shake to get cheap shares from weak holders. No mention of Tullett being involved in any way at all.If Tullett were involved in would be out in the open by now,no worries

With a former Tullett trader currently being tried in London over the LIBOR rigging scandal, I think that the market may be concerned that something could be said that harms the interests of his former employer. The last thing that we need is for TP to face fines or get involved in fighting off a series of class actions.

held TLPR for nearly 3 years as an income stock tucked away in ISA.

I find it hard to imagine a gathering set of market conditions which could conceivably be better for Tullets.

My view is that after the relative famine over the last few years for the brokers and for the demand of financial/hedging products that they will soon be experiencing a feast of unprecedented proportions.

The monetary planets appear to me to be about to align fantastically for a phenomenal pull for financial broker products.

The 8th anniversary of me buying these at £4.05 is next month, nice to see them back at that level. At the time I thought they would be a good hedge during the financial turmoil benefiting from volatility. Didn't work out but the dividends have been better than cash

Strong start to the month for Tulletts with a price move up to 412p.

Positive article in this week's Investors Chronicl which correctly points out that Tulletts continues to trade at a discount to competitor ICAP who trade on a tighter p/e ratio than the 12x of Tulletts.

I would expect this discount to narrow in due course and for this to be reflected in an increased share price in short order given the robust standing and outlook of the business.

NUMIS today issue broker note and REITERATE their ADD recommendation with a maintained PRICE TARGET of 420p.

It would not surprise me if we get some upgrades from other brokers in coming days on back of such good half-year results.

Strong, strong figures from Tulletts for their 2015 half-year.

-Revenue jumps from £360m to £416million ( +15%)

- Underlying PBT surges by an astonishing 22.5% from ££43m to £53million

- Reported PBT of £111 million versus £9m

Very upbeat statement and Outlook from John Phizackerley, CEO. - Citing higher volatility in certain markets, cost-cutting measures feeding through to a significant reduction in expenses. Strong performance from Oil Desks. - Info Systems Desks doing well and have expanded. Mention that the OTC markets are more stable in volumes of business.

Ambitions to become

"The Company's goal is to become the world's most trusted source of liquidity in hybrid OTC markets and the best operator in global voice broking. The Company's plan is to build revenue and raise the quality and quantity of earnings through further diversification of the client base, continued expansion into Energy and commodities, and building scale in the Americas and Asia Pacific, whilst preserving the business's core franchises."

Dividend of 5.6p maintained . Personally I would think there are reasonable prospects for a hike in dividend at the full year based on such strong results and a robust outlook.

Very encouraging results.

Always good to keep an eye on what the competition is saying.

Industry supremo, Michael Spencer CEO of Icap, talking yesterday on the analyst call after yesterday's Trading Update. In reply to an analyst question, Spencer said he thought that the right outcome was a scenario where there were three global broking firms, not four.

Who said sector consolidation was not on the cards!

He was also extremely bullish for dollar volumes as and when US QE ceases.

Herewith link to the Conference Call /analyst Q&A session.

The comments about three, not four, global broker firms being the "right outcome", are six minutes in to the session following the first question from Merrill Lynch.

Broadly positive trading Update released today by Tulletts rival, ICAP.

Online FT has following;

QUOTE

ICAP's Spencer expects further volatility -

interdealer broker says banks’ withdrawal and growth of high-frequency traders is changing markets

UNQUOTE

Good to see corroboration from an undoubted source of further anticipated volatility - the backbone of broker business.
