Good news at last.

The must be some value on the company, to select an offer of around 32p

Agree with that azalea, they didn't need to say anything, certainly nobody bought many before the rise - they're kite-flying, and why not? Hagan owns an absolute bundle and in his late 50's it's a one-time chance to cash in on his major asset.

28p bid seems a bit low, and at that price I actually was better off selling when I did and making the money between September and now on RBS, JJB, BDEV and others that I would not have made had I held on to these.

Follow the money indeed!

Overnight I have been trying to figure out the average price paid by Mr Levene and whether he, if not others, will accept 32p, IF it is offered. I agree it could be just a testing of the waters and quite posssible that someone like MAN could make a higher and real bid. In addition, the price movement was not that great and I question the real need for the compnay to comment.

Why would the Directors of Trio wish the indicative price of 32 pence to be disclosed so clearly ?

This is very unusual for any early stage and preliminary take-over discussions / negotiations.

Normally, a price is only put on the table by a bidder and released by the target once discussions are significantly beyond preliminary stages in my experience.

It leads me to believe one of two things:-

1.That discussions have already been on-going for a certain time already, and/or

2. That Trio are putting out a marker to see if any other parties - such as other brokers or different " Private Equity consortia " - would be interested at a higher price.

Watch this situation. It may develop further. DYOR

Comiserations there Monty and thank you for your kind words. Most of us and certainly myself have suffered similar fates - picking the right share but failing to see it through. Yet again this possible bid supports my philosphy of "follow the money" - rarely do individuals take large positions as Mr Levene did, without knowing more than the average punter such as myself. I will not make much out of this, but its better than taking a loss.

Jeeezz.

First it was DEB that I held thousands of and sold 2 weeks before they were taken over, the management having denied they were in talks, now this. Had 360k of these at one stage, selling at around 26p average in September '04, now none.

I seem to get the right companies, just don't have the patience to hold on. Currently holding a bundle of BDEV shares, so wait for me to sell them, then they'll be taken over.......

Congrats to the holders!

The last time the price hit 28p was in early September 04 and before that in Q1 04.

However, as I have said previously, the big stake holders and Mr Levene's not insignifcant latest purchase, followed by MAN's very recent 3% stake, speaks to me of a bid well before the end of this year.
