01/12/2015 01:43 | We have a prospective p/e now under 4, with cashflow to match. Does anyone see why this is not a buy? | harry_david
30/11/2015 13:14 | Have brought in again hope that will do the usual and reach £2 by Jan Feb next year | mrthomas
30/11/2015 12:19 | Good news on the Asda tie up. Can see more ad taking up with the addition of local world titles. Problem with their new mobile app though, cannot get insatalled on my phone! | yinyang888
27/11/2015 23:47 | What a week! Enormous volume, determined selling and committed buying. Two big news items coming in December, hacking decision and trading statement 18th. If all goes well we could see a major bounce by the end of the month. | harry_david
17/11/2015 14:07 | Very interesting, Germany also, what's going on at the moment does not suggest an industry in its final torment. | harry_david
17/11/2015 13:42 | Harry, Did you notice the Irish Independent reported revenue growth? hxxp://www.independe | smicker
17/11/2015 13:17 | This is a most extraordinary way to unload a large holding, either incompetent or thinks he has inside info!! I am betting on the former. | harry_david
28/10/2015 15:01 | I personally calculate free cash flow after the £36 mil being paid into the pension fund for the next three years, which would put it between £70 and £80 mil. | harry_david
28/10/2015 14:57 | Harry,on the conference call one analyst asked if free cash flow post acquisition would be around £100m . This was not confirmed by TNI as they said thy didn't want to issue any new guidance, but I assume the questioner (can't remember from which broker)had this number in mind. | gfrae
28/10/2015 11:06 | This needs to clear about 180p which is the top of a 3 year descending triangle. It has bounced off that level this morning. Once cleared it will be a strong buy signal | essential
28/10/2015 09:43 | Gfrae, I have bought a few more, but not in the placement unfortunately. There are now so many reasons why these shares should go up, hopefully a good court decision, entry into the ftse 250, a much higher eps, and £12 mil of extra cost savings. It is worth noting that the company's cash flow after pension contributions now rises to over £70 million, up by £30 million. Your suggestion for the price potential has to have legs. | harry_david
28/10/2015 09:29 | Initially a bit miffed not to have had the opportunity to partake in the issue.I had not expected them to issue any new shares and that the deal would have been entirely financed by debt. Placated by the small discount, and the fact that directors have taken a meaningful amount of new shares, Vijay has even bought back at a higher price than he recently sold at ! Now ,perhaps the market might concentrate on fundamentals, which might reasonably mean a share price beginning with a 3 or 4 ? | gfrae
28/10/2015 08:12 | The brokers should do a detailed review now that the deal is on the table. My amateurish analysis says we go to 39p of earnings on a capital of 284 million shares million shares. these figures if well supported by the brokers notes should take the price over £2 fairly quickly, good upside on the opening quote today. | harry_david
20/10/2015 14:00 | I made a mistake,if your amended eps figurs are more or less right Harry, post purchase of Local World then if the price trebled it would still only be on a prospective p/e of less than 12x. | gfrae
20/10/2015 13:18 | Yes he certainly has a giant profit in Local World, on my poor maths it is about £14 million if the takeout is £220 mil for the lot, as the Guardian claims.Obviously I hope you are right on the short covering, I guess I am just getting nervous that he does not need to buy. | harry_david
20/10/2015 12:48 | Harry,I'm sure he isn't. He is,as you know one of the co investors in Local World and his short position in TNI is a hedge against that, I have been informed. Net net I am sure they will have made a very good profit out of Local World and probably out of the hedge as well if he covers around this price. | gfrae
20/10/2015 12:19 | No announcement since those very large trades last week. I suppose it is out of order to question whether Mr Odey has been warehousing in advance of the Local World deal. That cannot be right, it would be illegal. | harry_david
20/10/2015 11:50 | Or treble ! (Why not ? that would only be 15x eps ). Good campaign starting in the Daily Mirror, whether it will increase sales I don't know. | gfrae
16/10/2015 17:53 | Shares creeping up. Perhaps the deal is near consummation. It occurs to me the recent buoyant trading statement when coinciding with a nicely priced acquisition should work wonders. Once these shares start to move on the back of a fundamental increase in eps we will also see more high profile analyst attention as it goes into the ftse 250 in December. Allied with short covering the price could easily double. | harry_david
05/10/2015 08:03 | These revenue improvements are about where one would expect from industry trends, but even so are encouraging. Add in the extra cost savings and the fall in newsprint pricing, we should see the full year profit a good 10% up on expectations. | harry_david
03/10/2015 23:39 | Ah this is where we all trade the humps eh? Like proper investors ;) | arlington chetwynd talbot
03/10/2015 23:36 | Panmure Gordon have upgraded TP to 240p from 150 so must be expecting a positive one | smicker
03/10/2015 22:43 | Waspfactory, I did not see this notice until you pointed it out. It is rather unusual, do you know when the Compny put it on their notice board? They could have decided on quarterly reports I suppose, it cannot be because of trading well ahead or behind expectations because that requires an immediate release as soon as the board is aware.Maybe the acquisition talks have stalled and we will get that in amongst a trading update. According to DMGT display advertising has picked up recently, Sainbury had good results last week which is a good indicator. | harry_david
02/10/2015 09:43 | Trading update on Monday - fingers crossed for a good one. | waspfactory |
