10/4/2015 12:55 | hi rivaldo, yes certainly one to watch this one, i expect it to turn round at some point. As you say though, the Market isnt accepting average performance currently imo so like you I watch and wait with interest. | pj 1
10/4/2015 10:32 | Certainly looking a little better here. However, TCN are still likely to have £3m or so net debt, and since they made a £70k loss in H1, and the forecast is a £200k loss, it seems that H2 was significantly loss-making to the extent of perhaps £100k. No need to rush in here methinks, especially given the huge downturn in mining and resources generally. But having held profitably in the past I'll keep watching for further signs of improvement. I do think the company are capable of turning things around, and there's plenty of potential if general economic conditions improve/remain stable. | rivaldo
10/4/2015 10:15 | Yes -the RNS would infer that the US is well on the way to being sorted. I have alot of these and can't quite bring myself to buy any more. If I was a non-holder I would see this as an attractive entry point. | meijiman
10/4/2015 09:47 | If they pull this off, bg, the management will have done a great job in surviving Royce pulling the contract. The US adventure looked terrifying to me. apad | apad
10/4/2015 09:46 | Yes, you have to say that reading between the lines a bit there could be a decent recovery story here. The company took on far too much and did not have enough management skills, or rather depth of management, to handle the various initiatives which now make it a global player in tubular components. Allied to which there was a sharp downturn in some areas eg mining related which would hit the likes of Caterpillar a key customer. Now need to shift the LBT to PBT and we are off to the races-again. | meijiman
10/4/2015 09:06 | Yes it is the first time in three years that I've actually heard some positive noises from the management team. Just maybe things are starting to turn for the better! | brummy_git

17/12/2014 09:33 | "Maxpower Automotive UK will invest approximately GBP0.25m in additional manufacturing capability at its facility at West Bromwich to support the contract" if extra manufacturing capacity is required, that suggests it is new new business. Asagi (no position) | asagi
17/12/2014 09:19 | Not clear if this is new new business. | charo
17/12/2014 08:40 | Good news indeed. Note the rather pointed reference to the contribution from the US side. In my view the US deal has been a big drain short term, and has struggled to win back orders. If it can get sorted then we could be back off to the races of +30p again. Question is when? | meijiman
17/12/2014 08:07 | contract win announced a 5 year Long Term Agreement ("LTA") with a major British construction equipment manufacturer. The LTA is expected to generate circa GBP10m of revenue for the Group over its duration, | alter ego

12/12/2014 09:55 | the us and china are distractions and will imo prove a perennial drag on performance.i said this at the time of the announced moves and see no reson to change my mind.the executive team are out of their depth and have been for two years. | charo

02/12/2014 09:16 | APAD -let me amend that to 'are'! Think we are talking about companies such as Caterpillar and Cummins. What I think they are trying to say is that they are well positioned as a global player in tubular components for when trading conditions improve. But I think fundamentally alot of the issues here relate to the US acquisition and lack of depth of management in the Us subsidiary. In short many customers may have decided to go elsewhere when the firm went into receivership, and may not have come back. But TCN do seem to infer they have now got on top of the main issues. The share price will do little when there is LBT but might be a good recovery story as the market will look ahead to a return to profitability. | meijiman
02/12/2014 09:00 | No position on W/L I find the outlook statement a little unusual. The first paragraph I read as positive and caught my eye. Yet the second paragraph is the opposite and left me feeling 'wary' at best. Almost the wrong way around? Any thoughts on that? pj "The strategic investments in the USA and China position the Group uniquely in its target sectors. This provides us with the platform for accelerated growth with our existing customer base as additional new business is secured and market conditions improve. Business in China continues to expand whilst in the USA the new management team has made an encouraging start in creating a solid platform from which the business can develop. "Market conditions are expected to remain challenging for the balance of the current year with revenue slightly lower than the first half but improved on the comparative period last year. Adjusted LBT is expected to be slightly higher than the first half of the year." | pj 1

02/12/2014 08:42 | They thought they were getting a bargain. You are right to point out that so many firms have gone wrong there.Still it is being sorted out -at a cost. Results are a curate's egg. Shares to tread water for longer then. I suspect they were driven by strategic thinking -they had to manufacture where their customers were. | meijiman
02/12/2014 08:23 | Why do so many firms bite off more than they can chew in the US? It would look a much fitter firm without the purchase. apad | apad
