Recently bought a few of these. Looks a great company with good prospects; also, I think the strengthening of the US$ should give margins a positive uplift.

surprised this hasn't been taken over
not hedging the dollar fall is stupid but easy to say with hindsight but was easy to see in the currency mkts
specialist niche companies like this one are easy prey for the pe boys

this group looks quite cheap to me - worth putting a few away for the long term.

I am holding for Mondays results but have not doubled up.The last accounts crowed about windfall from strong dollar. Now that the dollar is weak looks bad. This company does not enjoy consistent growth-rather it gets blown about by input prices, terms of trade etc.
I am abroad next week so wont be around to comment on the results.
Best wishes everyone.

Orange juice 2for1 at Morrisons today.Getting worried!
It begs the question how much of Treatts business is orange juice? Their website twitters about citrus essences and historically they were always regarded as the orange juice people.
Last accounts said the second half would be stronger.Hold for December results.

Interesting to read the company has not had it's property valued since the 1970's.

Little tick up yesterday, and can now sell easily online above the official bid. Hopeful for a bit of a recovery now.

Well, the following big trades were reported yesterday (22 Feb) :

30,000 @ 255p
25,000 @ 255p
20,000 @ 255p

£191,000 worth.

So, either they are very late reported sells, hence explaining the recent fall.

Or, they were buys (which a cynic might suggest also explain the recent fall, i.e. shake to fill big order).

Today's tick up points towards the latter, but too early to be sure yet.

I bt in at 281p early last Nov, since when share price has been struggling and falling backwards.
I thought I could see some mkt dominance and some advantage to be taken out of other peoples bad luck in U.S. last year, but no sign of mkt optimism is showing in the share price yet.
If I take a (highly selective) look in the prospects published 12 Dec 2005, I would see little firm ground for optimism.
Typical Quotes: ''sales to increase over the coming year'', ''operating margins to tighten significantly in some areas'', ''Europe will continue to prove the most difficult region'', ''will continue to benefit from the new ERP system'' (is this the best hope for the future? an ERP system!), ''essential oil prices will remain steady'', ''orange oil remaining firm'', ''grapefruit oil prices not expected to fall''.
Not exactly confident is it? Maybe I am being impatient, but I am seriously considering jumping ship as in the current mkt I think I can see better prospects for the cash elsewhere.
I know that John Lee at least is a big fan of this one, and my opinions are not meant to sway anyone else's, but at least I've got some frustration off my chest.
regards,
PIM
