09/4/2008 10:16 | Boffster.... I think that the recent developments with Optare and the mention of funding required in the accounts has not helped. | greyseal
08/4/2008 21:39 | I am bewildered, since the start of the year the company has revealed its first solid orders, and yet our market cap has more than halved. Am I missing something? | boffster
08/4/2008 16:17 | This from an investor conversation with Roy Stanley (link in header on DHP thread) "...I have asked Roy about a rumour ...that he is in talks with Traction Technology with a view to acquiring the company. Roy categorically stated that he is not in talks with TT and does not expect to be..." Sorry guys. | m.t.glass
08/4/2008 16:11 | Why would you be wanting to get out? Usually when one company buys another it is the vendor's price that goes up and the buyer's down. If TRAC decide to sell it should be at quite a premium to the current share price | greyseal
08/4/2008 16:03 | Greyseal - I've heard rumours also, that a company called Optare is being bought by one of his company's, and Optare has an agreement with Traction to build single hybrid decks. You guys may already know this though. Maybe we should be getting out! Gettin into Darwen! | bhudiaki
03/4/2008 11:05 | "in talks with" is almost certainly true - and likely to have been so before his Jamesstan company bought Optare - in which Traction Technology (and Enova) have some ongoing involvement (Optare's 'Sola' model uses TT drivetrain technology and Enova (ENV) electronic management components). But until confirmed otherwise, I would guess that extending the "in talks with" into something involving a takeover is merely bulletin board wishful thinking? If it does turn out that he is discussing buying the company, I'm not sure if he would do so within his Darwen Group (DHP) or via his (unquoted) Jamesstan account. There is of course the (negative) possibilty that the talks are about terminating TT's involvement, in favour some supplier he already works with. So if buying this stock on rumours being positive, take care. | m.t.glass
03/4/2008 10:15 | There is a rumour over on iii that TT are in talks with Roy Stanley about him buying the company. Has anybody heard anything to support this? Thanks | greyseal
18/3/2008 06:49 | this company's mkt cap @5M!..peanuts | jailbird
17/3/2008 23:16 | We're all lost for words at the inexplicable share price drop!! | boffster
17/3/2008 17:41 | This BB is well quiet! | bhudiaki
11/3/2008 12:37 | Did anyone go to Cenex? Trying to make sense of yesterdays drop... | thisissimon
07/3/2008 09:15 | TRAC are talking at a Cenex event at Sheffield on Monday. Hopefully get an update and further interest. | greyseal
19/1/2008 10:33 | Maybe I am being too harsh. The website implies they have the product already for sale. Maybe the mark-up is sufficient for them to hand make the hybrid units and they could set up profitably, reducing cost as volumes increase. Thoughts? | crystalclear
19/1/2008 10:23 | Flywheels are more efficient for kinetic energy recovery. Batteries are maybe better if you want to drive down a hill, park, and drive up again the following morning, but for just driving in traffic, I think a flywheel is better in general, also with the exception of the vehicle being actually stopped. (Maybe you could use a clutch to the spinning flywheel to start the vehicle, instead of a CVT.) F1 is introducing KERS (Kinetic Energy Recovery Systems) in 2009 and it seems like Toyota, BMW and DC might go the electric route but that is because the KERS efficiency in F1 doesn't matter, they are all regulated to be 60kW power and 400kJ per lap of energy recovered (even if you store a megajoule). Also, weight doesn't really matter in F1 as the cars have a regulated weight, are built light, and the weight is made up by carrying depleted uranium ballast. But for street cars, weight is cost and efficiency is performance which is sales, so weight and efficiency matter more than in F1. So for street use, I expect flywheels to win out over electric solutions. A better electric solution was invented years ago. Trolley buses. Here, there is no need to carry around an electric storage unit, and the electricity doesn't need to be converted to and from chemical form in a battery - maybe they advocate supercapacitors for this, I'll have to check!!! I think if this gets made, there is enough demand and political pressure for the stuff to get sold. It will be more efficient than no kinetic energy recycling. But I doubt if this is really the most efficient way to make a hybrid, and suspect that the likes of ZF will have bigger budgets to do things not necessarily better, but more completely, and hence get their stuff to market as a standard product. | crystalclear
18/1/2008 12:23 | interesting stuff on here | rheiner
18/1/2008 10:54 | Does anyne have any detailed technical stuff on this? | giltspur
17/1/2008 10:27 | shame we do not know the amount of revenues from the contract..normally means not significant.. however it is early days but one to def monitor. | jailbird
17/1/2008 10:25 | Up today to near 25p. on contract news. Is this share in a topical sector and so likely to be popular I wonder. Shares originally 28p. when first issued. | rheiner
20/12/2007 19:15 | Interesting company if Optare MoU leads to something.... but pity about the % spread. | don muang
20/11/2007 13:12 | Market cap is £11m, which sort of implies that somehow the company is going to get £11m back! I don't think there are enough shares on the market to make it a safe short though, so it is a question of playing pass the parcel with the shares while the music plays to see who is holding the cash and who just has wrapping paper in their hands when the music stops. | crystalclear
19/11/2007 10:20 | some decent buys this morning..mkt has waken up to this announcement.. a quiet board too...nice and steady. | jailbird
19/11/2007 09:19 | this also bodes well for the technology too looks the mkt is waking up to this company worth holding ..these bloody move up on small volume. | jailbird
19/11/2007 07:53 | this bodes very well RNS Number:9585H Traction Technology PLC 19 November 2007 Traction Technology Plc (AIM: TRAC) Agreement with Optare to develop and market hybrid buses | jailbird
13/11/2007 15:41 | Quote "Reporting 2007 Traction Technology plc will publish its Annual Report for the year ending 31st May 2007 by 30th November 2007."
