10/8/2002 11:50 | 175,000 'T' buy Friday. Someone agrees with me. | andrewd
03/8/2002 13:20 | How low can TRG go? 20% discount to NAV. Down from over a fiver a share. Got to be a good recovery play IMO. | andrewd
07/8/2001 16:25 | The warrants have shorter life than I'd like (oct03) but premium is very small and gearing 4x, so they are interesting as the ECB will surely have to get real by then & sterling/euro will prob fall by then. Prob as with many warrants is NMS is small (3K) and lack of liquidity. Worth a small punt, imho. | ashtongray
07/8/2001 14:14 | I agree with Ashtongray. A good bet on the exchange rate as its only a matter of time (unfortunately!!) before we are conned into the euro. Sterling will have to fall before we go in so there is the potential to make a good capital gain on TREG. If you're brave enough buy the warrants, although i wish they had longer to run. | clerkenwell
30/7/2001 15:28 | imho its a matter of waiting until the ECB awakes from its slumber & joins the real world.Meantime I'm holding, partly because its also a punt on the sterling/euro exchange rate. | ashtongray
30/7/2001 11:28 | IS this one completely dead in the water ? | kenball
31/5/2001 16:59 | Stephen Peak has been adding to his holding lately. Today his spouse acquired some stock as well. TRG has been a long term winner, irrespective of what other funds in the sector may have done or are doing over the shorter term. Depends on one's outlook and the time-scale one has in mind, but at the present price i.e. 267.25p closing price today TRG is worth another look! In the past TRG has always bounced back in time. Since one should be buying into these funds for three to five years, I think there is plenty of reason to feel confident about its future performance. | keyboard
30/4/2001 14:55 | Other European funds have performed much better. This fund in comparison with Fidelity European is a loser | jake
08/4/2001 16:24 | Keyboard - I think your right, I'm waiting for markets to stabilise a little before moving in. The shares do not appear to have broken the down trend yet, I'll wait until there is a positive move and then try some buying. I've been burn with warrants once before, for that reason I only buy warrants with at least a 5 year life now and try not to hold them if they have less than 3 years left. Two I have recently bought are Morgan Grenfell Latin American and Aberdeen Asian smaller which both look like excellent value. | owston
02/4/2001 13:04 | Owston, Because there is the possibility of a hard landing in the US, the situation in Europe might deteriorate beyond present forecasts, which is why I suggested drip-feeding into TREG, particularly if one already holds shares in this. I have done this in the past with TREG and other ITs, when markets have been volatile, and never regretted it. The pound-cost average price works in favour of the investor. I agree with you about the warrants. But I thought there is still some life left in them. Don't they expire in 2004? | keyboard
01/4/2001 21:52 | Yes, I agree, stephen peak is one of the best managers around. I too have invested in both the shares and the warrants, fortunately I sold the warrents at £3 so I'm lookin good there but I held the shares. I think that Europe wont be as badly hit economically as the US but sentiment will take a real brusing if the US hard landing does come to fruition. Lets hold for now and see if the old guy pulls another rabbit or two frm the hat. I think I'll stay clear of the warrants - not long to go on them. | owston
30/3/2001 16:56 | Edited: OCTOBER 12, 2009; Worth monitoring again. | keyboard |
