Septblues in future when you post can you be precise instead of trying to confuse people on this board.
Reading your post i thought you were referring to the most recent appointment the non-executive director Phil Holland who is an Accountant.

By King's I meant Simon Kings not Richard King.

Those who follow TPG will know that the chairman Richard King retired recently.
Richard King was an accountant and was replaced by someone who was not an accountant.
The board consists entirely of people from a technology/industrial background, even the CFO, so it is entirely reasonable to bring in another accountant.
I am pretty certain that the new guy has absolutely no interest in the workings of submarine atmosphere management systems or the finer points of the new £1M machine tools that were bought recently, indeed it would be rather strange if he did.

"He has extensive corporate and plc experience and his background in the management of broad, diversified operations will be invaluable to TPG"

no rant PA

simply a different way of questioning the culture at the top and knowing a little about the NED market.

Seems a bit of a rant Septblues.I have not the slightest clue about the pros and cons of this appointment but then I am simply placing my faith in a management that certainly looks like it knows what it is doing.

I can't see the logic of this NED appointment (mostly property development). The market is awash with more relevant candidates. I'm also concerned that we see a parade of CFO's / NED's with private equity / capital experience but apparently with no or insufficent public market experience.

What does this tell us about the priorites and mindset of the management? What does this tell us about the process of appointing directors?

What must be going through King's mind as he sees these people across the boardroom table and has to deal with their questions and comments which may seem irrelevant to him trying to develop business in the defence, aerospace, engineering, nuclear arena?

Septblues, not really worth quoting these broker's reports and certainly not worth looking at their longer term figures.
I have gone over both reports many times and they are a useful, small addition to our knowledge base but they are always way out and are always adjusted upwards.
They are forecasting an EBITDA of c. £2.4 for 2017 and I would be rather shocked it it wasn't comfortably over £3m.
Panmure Gordon are forecasting an EBITDA of £5.4m for 2019 but I suspect this is achievable in 2018.
The house broker obviously thinks nothing of increasing the 2016 forecast by 33% one month before the year end !!

Never a dull moment with TPG these days !!

Obviously the recent acquisitions and cap ex are not the only things planned and they do still have plenty of cash.

"invaluable to TPG as we seek to grow our business and continue to build our considerable order book. We look forward to Phil joining the team as we capitalise on a number of medium term growth initiatives and opportunities."

That's the way iLeeman posts. Picks up on momentum, posts graphs pointing to the sky, uses ramptastic commentary, and then disappears when they come off the top.

Bought them on 14th August 2015 at 3.515p. I've been in Corac/TPG for a very long time, and the others owe me quite a bit more!
