06/8/2016 11:48 | OYH, I agree that a name change is inevitable, as the current title is no longer relevant now that CT has gone and his Sensium patch has been sold (he must be feeling gutted). However, I disagree on the branding aspect. The firm is not a consumer facing business, rather it is a "behind the scenes" supplier so branding is not really relevant. I can see them changing the name to Frontier Silicon because it is most associated with their core business. They may not change the name for a while yet, as there will be costs involved in re-registering and whether that will run into the tens of thousands or hundreds of thousands of pounds I do not know. I can see them leaving it until they turn profitable before going to any such expense, so my guess is that they will keep the current name until next year. The website will need a revamp anyway to remove any references to the health division. From past experience with firms changing their name, the old share certificates remain valid so at least they will not need to go to the expense of issuing new certificates. As per my previous post, I hope the BoD resist any opportunistic bids at the current lowly share price There is great potential in the slimmed down business, with worldwide growth prospects in the form of Google Cast and DAB, especially if the UK Govt announces a digital switchover for radio when the 50% audience threshold is reached. | life of crime

04/8/2016 16:00 | I agree that the slimmed down TMZ is a tempting target for a bidder, a bit like IMG. The question is for how much? Any buyer, especially from overseas, may use the lower pound and the lowly share price to make a cheeky bid of circa 4p. Bearing in mind that Frontier is the CEO's baby I doubt he will be minded to sell out too cheaply, given that he will inevitably lose some control over Frontier's direction if a parent company takes over. For that reason I think it will take a much better offer to make it worth his while to relinquish control of the firm just as it is poised to become profitable. I would resist an opportunistic bid and would prefer TMZ/Frontier to trade towards profitability for a couple of years, see how the Google tie-up pans out and hold out for a return to 10p, either through organic growth or a bid at a later date. | life of crime
04/8/2016 14:58 | If we are placing bets, my money is on Marvell Technology - the company whose chips Toumaz is using for their streaming audio module. The technology and software Toumaz have would be a perfect fit for Marvell. | rob_evans
04/8/2016 10:43 | will get bought out IMHO, but price may well be low around 4p would do it. Not sure that would be in the interest of long term shareholders but for those adding it might. | blueteam
04/8/2016 10:08 | You could be right. Hg Capital are well known for acting in this space-look at their website.I get the impression AS doesn't like being a public company..but there again the board have a responsibility to look after shareholders interests. | chillpill
04/8/2016 09:57 | Topped up after the sale news, as now a real prime takeover target. Expect the 4p range to be hit sometime this year. | blueteam

31/7/2016 10:36 | It was costing 700k per month to keep Sensium alive. The company with that burden was very close to cashflow positive. Now Sensium is gone they can generate at least 6m a year free cashflow. Hindsight is a wonderful thing but they should have canned Sensium well over a year ago and focused on profit and shareholder returns. | chillpill
30/7/2016 22:34 | Agreed. With the pound being at a 30-year low if any overseas company has been doing DD on FS now is the time to make a bid. | nod
30/7/2016 19:14 | Very disappointing that Sensium should sell for so little when so much has been put in. However we are where we are. Now TMZ has a dominant share of digital radio chips, and a very promising position in smart audio modules. I think it is very unlikely that TMZ will be independent for much longer - most small fabless companies that are successful in a niche market get taken over sooner or later. | rob_evans
30/7/2016 09:07 | p77 - I was talking about The Prof (Chris T) | the drewster
29/7/2016 21:22 | Well if they do a name change they can bloody well do a country of incorporation change too! | ianood
29/7/2016 16:41 | Name change on the cards imho. There is no point to the Toumaz name now......sad but true. | spekky
29/7/2016 16:18 | I'm not sure why anyone considers AS a top bloke, nor what business acumen he has shown. | project77
29/7/2016 15:34 | He's a top bloke, but alas evidence of his business acumen is 'limited'. Makes sense, though why 4m options at 0.25p? And on what conditions? | the drewster
29/7/2016 15:20 | Well he was a major reason to invest and that was a major mistake for me,technologists without an iota of business sense are a disaster as I have come to learn He won't ever be vesting most of these options but I sincerely hope he doesn't bag the millions at0.25p S | sweenoid
28/7/2016 11:52 | Exactly, it was Pure (IMG) - they brought radio to life!! FS are the first to provide low cost colour screen technology. | adventurous
27/7/2016 16:35 | Not from Frontier Technology. | snaffleclamp
27/7/2016 16:19 | Pure Sensia DAB has always had a colour screen!! | adventurous
27/7/2016 14:01 | Hmm, Like many here, gutted that Sensium has been sold, however it was becoming increasingly obvious that the procurement policy established over decades at mainstream health providers was not going to fall to the 'game changing' sensium tech without exceptionally deep pockets. This blog post contains some interesting insights for those who have had not yet been convinced of this: As for the future - as drewster says it is now down to Sethill and co to deliver on the promise of streaming audio and digital radio - we've been a long time in the wilderness....... DYOR M | maca1212
27/7/2016 10:59 | If they do need more cash, management (Sethill & Apps) will simply HAVE to go. The number of times they've stressed cashflow positive and no more cash raising, they would have zero credibility left (and it's already thinned as things stand). Digital audio is much more in Sethill's comfort zone, so it is essential he now delivers some shareholder value for that eye-popping salary he has been drawing since taking office... | the drewster
26/7/2016 22:10 | Drew, I hope for the sake of all the private investors you are right. | project77 |
