RNS this week with an update on the transition to Minds + Machines Ltd, .KIWI entering the Landrush phase & an overview of progress.

Everything coming together very nicely and the strengthening of the case for the Yahoo takeover approach we're all expecting.

The question is, will other Parties attempt to pre-empt that by making an early bid on the Company?

Verisign were always one of the Companies touted as a likely party to make a takeover offer for TLDH.

However, I think Yahoo will be the front runner as their strategy would suggest letting the gTLD process go ahead with a view to Takeover for entry into the space, rather then direct participation from the ground upwards. That would give them a route to entry to compete on some level at least with Google.

I very much doubt it'll be a one horse race anyway, all the better for TLDH/Minds + Machines when you consider the Cash resources of such Companies.

Johnma - I see we have 14 of the top 50 with just shy of 300,000 pre-registrations. New registrations across the board going at a steady 400-500 a day. I think this is going to need a lot of publicity to really get going but at least we're out of the blocks.

A zone is a zone, only one person can write into it so those are the figures. Agree with the .web query, obviously it's all web based!

Just an idea of potential value .Photos is first day winner in Donuts' latest batch of new TLDsBY Andrew Allemann - Mar 06, 2014Uncategorized4 Comments.Photos easily outpaces three other domain names that reverted to regular pricing yesterday.Four more new top level domain names from Donuts launched with regular pricing yesterday: .Photos, .Careers, .Shoes, and .Recipes..Photos led the others by a wide margin when it came to the initial hours of release. At the time the zone reports were published, .Photos had added 4,065 domain names to close at 4,509. Generally speaking, pre-registrations make up the bulk of adds in these "day one" zone files. It's important to note that zone files typically under report total registrations because they only include domain names with nameservers.Donuts' related domain name .photography now has over 25,000 registrations..Careers came in second place with 2,049 registrations to date. .Shoes has 1,527 and .Recipes just 999.Three more of Donuts' domain names are now in the Early Access Program phase: .cab, .limo, and .domains. Pre-orders for these three domains will be executed on March 12, which is the first day of regular pricing.
