If PSGM performs well then that 'should' be good news for Pamodzi,
in turn this 'should' be good news for thistle mining shareholders

Pamodzi Gold (PZG SJ, R13.00) is ranked "outperform", despite negatives from its hedge book and capital raising. The company's asset portfolio contains a mixture of production ounces, near-production ounces and blue sky potential. The company aims to be a 1m ounce a year producer within three years. In order to fund its Orkney and President Steyn acquisitions, the company is to issue some 36m shares to raise R500m.

gs: because the psgm deal is not yet finalised, much of
the 'meat' of it may be left on the bones for the new boys
(like the deferred production from the loss of power and hoisting
and processing plant capacity).

or stripped off. who knows?

Prosperous New Year Greetings bbbb.

You may recall that PSGM deal is not yet finalised.
In the meantime, cashflows and debt seem obvious imo.

'Healthy cashflows should be paying down debt very quickly.'

whose cashflows? whose debt?

thistle's 'cashlow' may be limited to new diluting paper, not money.

thistle's debt will continue to compound. if that continues to exceed
any notional paper 'gains' it will again be a question of time
before the controlling shareholders have maximised their take and
extract what's left.

Incredible to think that Pre consolidation Thistle's market cap was more than the whole of Pamodzi's and at a time when commodities had only just come out of multi year doldrums. Now look with Gold pushing $900. It's a strange old game!

Recall 13 Dec 2007

Update on the sale of PSGM

Assuming the shareholders of Pamodzi approve the Sale Transaction and all other
conditions to completion are satisfied or waived, Thistle now expects that the
Sale Transaction will be completed by January 30, 2008 ('Completion Date'). The
delay in completing the Sales Transaction is due to the postponement of the
meeting of the shareholders of Pamodzi Gold Limited ('Pamodzi') (JSE: PZG) to on
or about January 30, 2008.

Under the terms of the SSCA, the conditions precedent must be completed by
February 1, 2008 ('Long Stop Date'), failing which the agreement will terminate
and be of no force or effect and the status quo ante will be restored as near as
may be possible. The Company and Pamodzi may enter into discussions to extend
the Long Stop Date by mutual agreement.

maybe two years ago anyway. Happy New Year to all suffering holders. I myself am not optimistic about the price of gold this year and expect it to fall by end-2008. A slowdown in the western economies is not consistent with rising asset markets, including gold.
