30/11/2006 07:11 | Nice announcement this morning. Disposals and Results Date Notification Disposals The Food & Drink Group PLC announces that it has exchanged contracts for the disposal of its one remaining restaurant, Canyon in Richmond, for gross consideration of £1.2m, to be satisfied in cash at completion on 2 January 2007. The Group also announces that it completed the disposal of its site in Camden for £0.2m. These two disposals will give rise to a profit on disposal of around £0.5m. The sales proceeds will be used to fund the on-going expansion of the Group's core bar business. Results announcement The Food & Drink Group PLC will be announcing its preliminary results for the 52 weeks ending 23 September 2006 on Thursday, 7 December 2006. -------------------- Roll on next week for the results that are "significantly exceeding expectations". Regards, GHF | glasshalfull

29/11/2006 13:14 | vern been here about 5 years in hartford days not bailing out yet may sell @ £4 i can see this a good take over site in the forseable future i feel they have a good management team | vfleetsons@aol.com
29/11/2006 09:32 | Vern,I presume you have sold recently hoping to get back in at a lower price. You know this share never moves much in either direction but we all know, since the trading update, that it is about to head up(hopefully).Don't sell unless you need the cash, and dont have more money in FDG than you can reasonably afford to lose,(its not without risk, even now),just my opinion.... | spekky
29/11/2006 08:30 | vern been with this one a long time now, never let me down we will have a lot more conpany in a couple of days. agree ghf ps the trouble with thees the price it never goes down low enough to sell and then buy back, when you take your profit you end up with less shares | vfleetsons@aol.com
28/11/2006 16:17 | A couple more buys just gone through......haven't seen as many trades in the stock in quite a while!!! Quite reassuring to have some company....eh vern. Regards, GHF | glasshalfull

26/11/2006 13:39 | Hi GHF. Encouraging that FDG management can seemingly run these 'The' bars better than the much larger Luminar group, and as you say without an expensive refurb. The 2 bars were acquired March so a full year contribution from them in the next financial year....they appear to be larger than the rest of the estate. I'm very interested to know what the future intentions are for HJB as it seems to have gone quiet...perhaps they are evaluating the best way forward with it, and we'll learn more with the results. Cheers. | jeff h
24/11/2006 13:31 | Yes Jeff - and they have also continued with the format of "The" bars that they acquired earlier in the year rather than convert to HJB's. I "believe" that rather than spend a significant sum developing the outlets into the HJB format, they instead made smaller changes thus saving capex but with a similar result in the operations. I also "believe" that these acquisitions are contributing well. Possible a subtle change in strategy? No doubt we'll hear more once the FY results are issued. Nice to see the web site being updated at long last and now shows pictures of each of the 28 venues. Regards, GHF | glasshalfull
24/11/2006 12:30 | I was a bit concerned to find that HJB Birmingham had disappeared. Turns out that it has been repositioned as a bar called The Breakfast Club and is now open until 5am. I know Broad St has been extremely competitive in recent times, can recall an Urbium Tiger Tiger closing there. The new format looks an interesting concept, roll out potential perhaps... the forthcoming results will hopefully refer to it. | jeff h
23/11/2006 09:57 | Agreed GHF,it all hangs on what "significantly ahead" actually translates to.I have been patient with this one, basically because it seems to have been well managed in recent times, with each set of figures the sky gets a little more blue. However,I now believe its make or break time and want to see some return on my rather modest investment.I'll take like for like revenue growth of 3% anytime as long as they continue with stringent cost control. It would be nice to see some kind of roadmap in relation to HJBs future, and in general some kind of intent to be less London focussed, after all,Luminar isn't.Fingers crossed ,we'll be smiling in two weeks time. | spekky
22/11/2006 16:57 | Hi, I reckon quite a few will be waiting on results before taking the plunge. Then again I also happen to think that the T+10 traders may well arrive once the company releases an RNS confirmation of results. Many will want confirmation of the strong cash generation forecast by Peel Hunt, reduction in gearing and confirmation that HJB's are the company defining acquisition we are led to believe. I'd imagine that the outlook statement and current trading will be all important. To be perfectly honest I haven't seen much evidence of research on this board so you may be right in saying that there aren't many following FDG, however I have been in contact with quite a number of people off board who have requested the brokers notes and been extremely helpful in answering the queries and questions my post generated on TMF. It appears that the like for like growth of 3% is dismissed in a few quarters. Maybe the company will beef up the HJB side and use the Jamies bars as a cash cow? Many do believe it cheap though and this has been evidenced by a few decent buys over the last few sessions with volume of trades in the stock increasing in comparison to recent months. I remain convinced that the company is rated cheap in comparison to peers and will hopefully undergo a rerating in due course. We know results will be good ....."significantly ahead" afterall. The spread has reduced significantly on the stock to 167-168p, so maybe a decent move up is around the corner:-). Just the normal degree of patience required when holding any stock although I sympathise with those that have been holders here for a few years The best time to buy is when there is little or no interest. I did a similar write-up on RCG in January this year when the share price was around 40p.....it subsequently went nowhere for months, people became disenchanted but today we're sitting at 82p. Good luck to all holders and please feel free to contest any of my assumptions or research. Kind regards, GHF | glasshalfull
22/11/2006 16:27 | vern so few people have faith in this one | vfleetsons@aol.com

19/11/2006 18:22 | You're welcome santangello. FWIW here is a copy of my research to-date on the company, which I posted on T.M.F. earlier today. I have attached a copy of the thread developing. Regards, GHF | glasshalfull
17/11/2006 17:04 | Thanks for the info my friend... | santangello
17/11/2006 16:56 | Good to see WJCGHCC and Liars also posting here. Would value any opinion either of you have on FDG. I'm also having a good look at the company and contacted the FD today. It would appear that the company are planning to release figures during the 1st week in December and will release a RNS confirming this in due course. I came away fairly bullish from our conversation. Regards, GHF | glasshalfull
17/11/2006 16:32 | ADVFN quote looks notional to me, trades all normally priced. This stock always shows pre-market at -2.5p, I suspect it has not refreshed from that. Added more of these recently, nice and stealthy stock these..... | santangello
17/11/2006 11:21 | I think we'll see quite a few fish nibbling here between now and finals (early DEC. I hope) | spekky |
