Well I guess all but Porty were very happy yesterday. However, I do know how he feels as I checked out at 205 & regretted it for the rest of the day. I guess it boils down to what profit your happy with & for me 25% was it. Would love to see it fall further to give me another bite of the cherry, selfish I guess. Perhaps in the next day or so we shall have a few broker notes which may give some indication of where they think the share price should be. Good luck guys

The pension problem could go away very quickly.
A result of low interest rates and bond yields.
Meaning it will take more cash to buy the promised pensions.
That looks as though it is about to change.

They'll get round the pension issue some way. Though Teresa May could have ideas about corporate governance.

Further to my post 17842 and earlier ones over the past months, which received bad responses doubting my views (to be polite), I am pleased that at last those views have been exonerated. On so many metrics, Tesco has been improving in the past year or so: my personal experience in their stores, especially the mini-marts where the more/most profitable goods are sold more, changing stock, offloading unhelpful assets, and other management decisions; plus the reported numbers. These have all shown anyone taking a close look, that the company has been turning around and becoming once again a worthwhile longer term investment.

The 10% or so rise today pleases me far more than the negative comments my posts have received in the past have bothered me. So this smiley :) says it all!
