The loss in Tesco's market share for the 12 weeks ended July 17 is the slowest rate since March 2014.

Vaneric....I don't think it will ever be cost effective,lidl/aldi don't do it,and I doubt they ever would.Still it remains to be seen.

When you pay pickers and drivers there is very little left to trim .When you shop at Tesco just look at the amount of pickers going round the store at £7.40 a hour ,add on management ,drivers ,vehicle costs it always going to be a loss at £5 delivery .

I suspect it's a case of satisfying the customer in this internet age Albert.

Sooner or later when the system is fully established it will cost less to run and the costs will be quietly passed on to the customer like all the other hidden costs.

In the mean time for the supermarkets it's a case of 'speculate to accumulate'

Vaneric....The first supermarket to drop online delivery will do well,if it costs so much ditch it,if every customer that came into Tesco cost them money they would be bust.So why keep up with non profitable home delivery.

I think Tesco has upped its game. People like going to supermarkets if they get a touch of humanity. Most people get so little - am tempted here based on value and potential

Service has most definitely improved since Matt Davis joined. The grunts have actually learnt how to smile and be civil for once and there was even a young lady on the entrance who greeted me and gave me a basket????Weather it translates to profits,? I don't know. However it's much nicer to shop there when there is civility and curtesy displayed by staff.

Thoughts are whatever the verdict it affects industry whole, not just TSCO who seemingly conjured these up in response to discounters. If the ruling is the packaging are unacceptable it's a minor waste of financing this brand exercise. But not fussed by any of this.

The packs are clearly marked with the country of origin, I bought Boswell Farms sirloin steak yesterday, right under the price and barcode it says 'Origin United Kingdom.'
Other packs were similarly Marked 'Origin Ireland'

There can really be no justifiable reason to complain, beef don't grow in factories it grows on farms. Unlike the pretend beef (Quorn) and butter substitutes that are made in plastics factories.
