28/12/2001 10:24 | Tertiary Minerals (TYM) is speculative, but it could fly ... small share issue, highly prospective exploration acreage and a conservative and thrifty management. | benchmark
28/12/2001 10:18 | I feel that Bios do have the most potential to be multiple baggers...but any ten baggers in one year I'm not so sure. I like the potential now of Oxford Biomedica (OXB) which has already been mentioned a couple of times on this thread at least. Also, although not really a Bio, Bioprogress (BPRG) on OTC NAS which has already been mentioned, as it deals with non-animal gelatin-equivalent encapsulation of all those vitamin pills you swallow and hope not to get BSE from! As always I feel that the only genuine potential multibagger for 2002 must be Protherics (PTI). If their unique vaccine (Angiotensin) for controlling blood pressure comes up trumps then sky's the limit. Two significant market boosts in particular here would be the signing of a major pharma to handle this vaccine and the results of Phase II which are due as soon as the first quarter of 2002. Another major blockbuster quite uncounted I feel in Protherics' price is their severe sepsis treatment CytoTab which is also in Phase II and has only one competitor in this previously untreatable field. This company has the advantage of actually having enough cash to survive to profitability on its FDA approved drugs alone. Not many ten-baggers selected show this much underlying strength to prevent a nose dive into a deep crater on general market bad news, or specific stock bad news. Has shown a steady 9% rise since December 6th. A six bagger by this time next year if it continues on this trend! 36p today. One other non-bio I quite like is the unknown Statpro (SOG) which produces customer compliance software for the major funds. Could be a bagger of sorts if the financial retail market picks up in 2002. 43p today. [Declaration: I own PTI(a lot), BPRG. Have owned OXB. Yet to buy SOG] | franceys
28/12/2001 00:44 | BIGT20 Earlier you quoted:P "Fickena - and some OFEX shares go bust ! So be careful about what you buy on OFEX." Fair enough and I agree, but I take the rough with the smooth. Although large companies go bust, just look at Railtrack and Enron, all those safe people with their pension funds tucked away in nice safe 'large' companies. Which also winds me up, Railtrack shareholders whinging about losing their money, if I lost my money on any emerging market stock, they would just say "You took a gamble" all stocks are gambles. There are not any safe bets, except that RECALL WILL GO BUST IN 2002 eh Pommmy!!! | fickena

27/12/2001 23:33 | My prediction for 2002:- 95% of the multibaggers predicted on this thread will not be multibaggers. When can I collect my prize for being correct? | timbo003

27/12/2001 17:36 | Abbo (post 106) Have to agree on DIR. The risk is the Feb 2003 bank loan repayment - however, there are a lot of things that can happen between now and then. The share is sitting at 6p - well below the year high. Was recently tipped in Investors Weekly, and if the company starts to announce figures to accompany the deals that have been done, then this stock could rocket! (I hope so anyway, as I am in at 5.75p) Good luck to all! Modo | modo

27/12/2001 13:09 | FickenA, Here, here!! Invesys, Marconi and even Vodafone are other culprits.....people who invested in moni a year-18 months ago have lost upto 97% of their money...The stock comprised a part of MOST discretionalry portfolios and ALL tracker funds (which now account for over 30% of pensionable funds).. Invensys similar, Vodafone you may have got a way with a nice 50% loss. THE POINT ABOUT SMALL COMPANIES IS THAT YOU CAN ANALYSE THEM!!!! NO-ONE CAN ANALYSE VOD, ISYS, MONI etc.....the fact that brokers/analysts were saying to buy all of these stocks AS they fell off a cliff should tell people that.. | news
27/12/2001 11:59 | Ten baggers..... hmmmmm unlikely, However, if you are looking for a little known good value stock then I can't think of a better example that DIR Direct Message. Down from a floatation price of 25p to 4p on the back of a couple of serious profit warnings it is now trading at only 5.75p and has recently announce a lucrative (although details not yet released) exclusivity deal with the huge Clear Channel Adshel. Market cap of just 3.25m (with 1m cash in the bank and profit making divisions all round) the only downside is the 18m bank loan (recently restructured with Barclays) ..... Probable asset sale (Windmill extrusions) will pay back most of first tranch of debt due early 2003. As I said ..... looks real good value. Regards Abbo | abbo64120
27/12/2001 11:45 | I agree that 10 baggers could be difficult to find in 2002 - but if I had to go for one it would be Anglo Welsh. | intuitive
27/12/2001 10:47 | Don't worry about Pommy, no-one listens anymore....He's been shamelessly ramping Recall from 30p+ all the way down.....and claims to be nearly in profit! He must own half of the dog by now....Me thinks an expensive lesson is in the learning..... PLEASE DYOR re Recall as Pommy HAS NOT ANY...He just decided it's a goer and is in too deep to extricate himself..IMO | news
27/12/2001 10:39 | Pommy, "Did I mention Recall on OFEX" Please! only 3 times on this thread in 3 days "And this will be with no hype, no newspaper tip, just plain old fashioned pounds and pence coming through the books!! Get on, but be quick." or what??????? "Of Course Dont bother to DYOR, Ive done it for you!" Obviously someone did not get all they wanted from Santa and is trying to bump up his shares to buy the Harry Potter Lego castle!!! Good Luck Pom | fickena
27/12/2001 10:33 | Got to be PRM, many eggs in its basket ready to hatch....some should fly. XEN should be a five bagger. | cynic

27/12/2001 10:19 | Two stocks here (both traded in the US, but not here):- Silver Standard Resources, Inc (SSRI) and Pan American Silver (PAAS) With the price of silver rising over 10% in the last month (and the fundamentals very favourable with the US Government due to exhaust its silver stockpiles sometime in 2002) these two companies (which haven't forward sold their future production as many miners do) should be good leverage for capturing the elusive 10 bagger. | muchos wonga
27/12/2001 10:16 | Humbugg, I have a research report on Sunblush I can send you if interested.... Have you looked at ppi? | news
