26/5/2016 08:45 | Certainly a contrast to last yr. Wonder if it will recover share price to 2013 levels , or has the company been tainted in the City by last yr? | wad collector
26/5/2016 08:12 | Sweet results, looking like they're back on track. EPS up, debt down, high divi maintained. A recovering fallen angel as Slater would say. | pierre oreilly
03/5/2016 13:45 | Sold out today for a small ish gain plus whatever dividends. Watch it get taken over now! | zcaprd7
18/4/2016 13:56 | Another few pence will see my trading stock out again , taken 2 months to get to 10% . But better than the West Bromwich..... | wad collector
06/4/2016 10:36 | Tate & Lyle confirms that trading performance for the fourth quarter of the year ended 31 March 2016 was in line with both expectations and the outlook included in the trading statement of 11 February 2016. (Yesterday) That will do, compared with previous profits warnings! | wad collector

16/3/2016 22:39 | from the lloyds thread mr.elbee 16 Mar'16 - 16:06 - 173588 of 173597 1 0 here's why some fundies havent a clue... The announcement of a two-tiered sugar tax on drinks companies sent sugar-related shares to the floor. They included those of Tate & Lyle, the British brand most associated with the white stuff. Shares fell around 4pc before investors realised that Tate & Lyle sold off their sugar business nearly seven years ago and are now all about sweeteners. and we have seen the same in Lloyds many times. push the button on the keyboard first and ask questions later.. | pierre oreilly
16/3/2016 18:47 | El, it's not in their diet so I'd guess they manufacture it. Are you trying to make the point that some animals grow big and strong without meat/fat in their diets? Irrelevant if so. | shorecrab
16/3/2016 18:33 | where do teh Cows your eating get their saturated fats from shorecrab? they grow pretty big and strong | el chupacabra
16/3/2016 18:31 | its was a typo shorecrab | el chupacabra
16/3/2016 18:30 | millennials are raising their kids on natural whole foods, fact. Real sugar or fake sugar, in the long run this stock is dead money. the trading action today tho was purely algos reading headlines and then having to cover as it started going back up. | el chupacabra
16/3/2016 18:27 | "sugar and carbs are not teh evil most make it out to be, you are much better off consuming vast amounts of them than any amount of saturated fats found in animal products?" El, I notice you've put a ? at the end, so maybe you're slightly unsure about the validity of your view. My understanding is that a certain amount of saturated fats are vital for health. | shorecrab
16/3/2016 18:20 | 2765 Pretty sure taxing extra sugar in drinks is positive for tate. Surely most kids will switch to zero calorie artificially sweetened coke if sugared coke goes up in price. Diet coke/pepsi tastes just the same as the stuff with 20 teaspoons of sugar in imv. | pierre oreilly
16/3/2016 17:56 | teh good Dr talks about it here... he points out, in tests, people that added 'more' fruit to their diets lost more weight that those avoiding sugars altogether. This would be no surprise to those who watch Freelee the banana girl, she eats tones of fruit and carbs and is thin as a rake! | el chupacabra
16/3/2016 17:37 | aye maybe, hunting could of lead to more easily (once techniques were mastered) sourced food and hence a lot more free time to sit around thinking (brain exercise) | el chupacabra
16/3/2016 17:27 | I'm no expert (is anyone here?) but my understanding is that man evolved with most calories from sugars, but development was quite slow. When we first started hunting and eating meat, man developed very quickly, with quick brain growth and hence intellect. Still took a couple of million years though, from what i remember. | pierre oreilly

16/3/2016 17:13 | refined sugar or natural? | el chupacabra
16/3/2016 17:06 | Name one primitive culture that consumed large amounts of sugar in its diet. | wad collector
16/3/2016 16:41 | i think the body was designed to run on large amounts of 'sugar' WC just natural types of sugar found in fruits and veg. sugar and carbs are not teh evil most make it out to be, you are much better off consuming vast amounts of them than any amount of saturated fats found in animal products? where is teh chancellors meat tax? | el chupacabra
16/3/2016 16:21 | Likewise. One of my reasons for investing in Tate was in the expectation of a gradual ramp up in the "war on sugar". First minor salvo from the Chancellor and the price drops. Shows what I know... | elgordo
16/3/2016 16:08 | All artificial sweeteners carry small risks ( although dubious that a dipeptide like aspartame does really) but the alternative is to only eat sugar , and have a look around you to see if this is a good idea. Caries and obesity , which would you rather have? The human body was not designed to run on sucrose , fructose or any other sugar in large dietary amounts. Amused to see the chancellor's budget brought a rapid share price drop that equally rapidly rallied back to staring price as presumably the market looked at TATEs product range ... | wad collector |
