19/6/2015 20:40 | Description: Throughout its long history, Claud Butler has maintained its progressive approach and willingness to utilise developments in new materials and design. As a result, the company's range of cycles and accessories are as popular as ever. The Claud Butler brand is now relocating to parent company; Tandem Group Cycles Birmingham head office. As a result we are looking to recruit a product manager to join the Cycles team and work alongside our product developers and designers. The successful candidate will work closely with our carefully selected suppliers who manufacture all our products to exacting safety and ethical standards. The product manager will be responsible for overseeing the introduction of new bicycle products from initial research and development, supply chain management and aid the implementation of the marketing strategy for each line. Good presentation skills, record keeping and the ability to work to tight deadlines and set budgets is a must. The ideal candidate will be required to pull together market information to form a basis for product specification and design and communicate the requirements to fellow team members and suppliers. An interest in bicycles including a knowledge of manufacturing, component compatibilities, recognized safety standards and the ability to read technical drawings is a distinct advantage as will the ability to demonstrate 2-3 years of in-house experience in a similar role. The role requires regular domestic and international travel. | mrshaungcm

04/5/2015 12:59 | Evans Cycles changes hands for £100m The UK bicycle market was worth just over £950m last year, according to Mintel, and is set to be worth about £1.3bn by 2019. The market research firm said that Halfords was the clear market leader in the UK bicycle market, in terms of both sales and volume. and we missed this one... "The number of trips currently made by bicycle in England is around 1%. This figure has declined massively since the 1950s due to the huge rise in motor traffic and demonstrates that - if we - if we want to change the way we live - we need to design cycling back into our road network." | davidosh

22/4/2015 18:51 | Still trying to buy more but the MM don't want to sell me any. They drop the price on 3000 shares sold but offer me just 1000 to buy. so we now at a market cap of 6 million. We have pro rider that we bought for 2.50 million. We have a building worth 2.6 million at cost We have 1.8 million in cash in the bank. that's 6.9 million. We will make 1.5 million trading profit this year. EPS 30p plus. So how do we get value out of the company? Special dividend or a proactive BOD that wants us to grow. I will keep trying. tiger | castleford tiger
17/4/2015 16:53 | I will give fair feedback after next week. I am looking forward to it. BACK TO TND Picked up a cheeky 5750 on the bell at 141.24 Tiger | castleford tiger
16/4/2015 15:57 | Mello....the companies are all listed on the event programme hxxp://melloevents.c It is not possible to do an all in one ticket as half the attendees are coming up by train for the day or locals by car and do not require evening meal or accommodation. I have kept it as low cost as possible and many of the sessions are free as are all the main speakers and company presentations so for just £20 or £30 with a two day ticket you are getting the quality event that is simply not available anywhere else. If you are complaining about a £1 booking fee then this event and investing is probably not for you ! I pull up trees to get serious events to investors....this is not a walk in show. | davidosh
16/4/2015 15:43 | With the Mello event why not just do a price that includes both days and accommodation costs and workshop costs rolled into one. Also I notice having to book each individual entry there is a booking fee on each one. I refuse to pay booking fees on everything as a rule, should all be in the price in my opinion. And then I notice I am going to be hit with a "In addition there might be a credit card handling fee, which the bank charges for processing the payment. " Also I can see no indication of which companies are going to be present? Hence will have to give it a miss this time. | mrx9000

15/4/2015 11:38 | If you remove the resources and mining minnows from AIM and avoid the ridiculous overseas listings on AIM from China and the like then the AIM market was the best performing of all the indices last year. It is all about careful selection....my AIM family firms portfolio was up over 20% plus very healthy dividends and I have had some huge successes on AIM such as Crawshaws CRAW the butcher who had a great deal announced today. Check the share price two years ago when I first picked them up. Now that is a butcher delivering not an oil explorer !! My event next week will be great for those wanting to learn www.melloevents.com/ | davidosh
15/4/2015 10:02 | Bought MAJESTIC at 2.81 last week as I think the new CEO will turn it round. I also have a good record with AIM shares , you just need to dig much deeper. Tiger VCP being my no 1 along with DTG | castleford tiger
15/4/2015 08:17 | Thanks CWA1 - yes Tandem has been a good investment and I feel there is a lot more to come. | amt
15/4/2015 08:15 | Agreed that there's been a lot of dross on AIM over the years and the key has been to avoid it where possible but there have been some truly exceptionally profitable counters out there on AIM over time as well. Must've been lucky in having my fair share of them I suppose and not too many duds(though not none, unfortunately). Good fortune with your investments and apologies to all for the off topic-though I count Tandem as being one of the "success" stories, albeit it has taken a long time to get to this stage! | cwa1 |
